Norm Chow of USC says he is interested in going to the NFL. I think the Texans should replace Chris Palmer with Chow. Anybody agree?

nope.
Rumor has it the Titans offered 1.5 mil to him to be the OC there. I wouldnt be willing to pay that kind of money. And im not convinced that Palmer is a bad OC. You cant really tell if ANY coach is not cutting the mustard right now because of the bad play by the line on both sides of the ball. |

Interesting the Jax actually had the chance with Chow but he said he was never interviewed by them... now it looks like he's gonna go to the Titans.
This was mentioned in today's chronic, I would provide a link but couldn't find the e-story. |

^^He became the Jets offensive coordinator the day after Herm Edwards fired Paul Hackett.
Well he didn't actually fire him, but he put alot of pressure on him so Hackett just resigned.

I heard on the radio a couple of experts talking about Joe Gibbs being out of touch with modern football. They said he was to conservative and did'nt take enough chances .He wanted to try to control the game instead of going for big plays.

Well I did'nt exactly say that. We'll see how Chow does with the Titans. I do believe if you waste a series because you went deep on 1st and missed its better than wasting a series cause you ran on 1st down and gained a yard .

![]() I feel the offensive line has some good players. An OC with vision and strength would be able to get them to execute properly and as a team. I also feel that the OC has got so afraid to throw interceptions that Carr would rather take a sack. |

So is it official that Chow is going to the Titans? Wow, you talk about an upgrade.......I'd take Chow over most OC any day. But for $1.5 mil? What does Jeff Fisher get paid? Its a no brainer for Chow take the money and run......but I would sure hate to seem him go the Titans. Let him have fun with all the rebuilding

I have yet to see anything in print to tell me Chow is/has/was/maybe thinking of becoming a flaming meatball. Does someone have a link to show me otherwise? I believe it when I see it in print from somewhere legit (if there is such a place...). Press conference please.

Of course since Chow is a representative of a top caliber college program, everyone seems to think he was the best candidate. I am a Jaguar's fan, and I can honestly say I would not want Chow running our offense. The Jags personell is NOT made for a West Coast offense type of scenario and that is the kind of thing Chow runs. Byron isn't mobile. He doesn't stay under center... he is a shotgun quarterback. Taylor, although a solid rusher, is not the best pass catcher. Our TEs aren't nimble and quick with sure hands...
Our personell is not bad at all... it's just simply, we aren't made for a WCO. Smith can handle what we have and I hope he is able to take the talent we do have and build on it. We have a lot invested in our offense. If our offense could just show up and be consistent, then we would be a very good team. Our defense is already good and we STILL need depth. We were playing this year without a real pass rusher, we lack an OLT, and CB. Aside from that, we have to decide if we can work out a deal with Donovan Darius or we have to watch him go. With the upgrades to our defense, and maybe another added wide receiver, we can be a division contender next season. Hopefully Smith can do something good with our offense. I do hope that the Texans are able to add some depth to their defense and offense... It would be good to have more teams contending with the Colts next season. The Titans are in the same situation that the Jaguars were in starting in around 2000. If it wasn't for the creation of the Texans in which we were able to relinquish about 16 million of our cap hit, we'd still be suffering. That goes to show about how long the Titans will be in the AFC South basement. Anyways, if the Titans want to hire Chow, so be it. Have you noticed that the Titans are the only team expressing interest in Chow? Everyone else wants experienced OCs... which is another reason Del Rio went with Smith. Del Rio said that he wanted an OC with NFL experience. Just because Chow has a great team in USC doesn't mean he will be a success in the NFL. |

Oh, and I'm not sure about Mac returning... He is a huge burden to their cap. If he is there, then the Titans may be able to pull off some upsets next season, but they will still be in the basement. Either way, the Tacks are about 23 or 26 million in the red, so they have a lot to fix... which I doubt will happen as I mentioned... they are in the same position the Jaguars were.
