Well this Super Bowl will be the 3rd time in Super Bowl history a black quarterback has started the game. I am sure McNabb won't even give Rush the satisfaction of mentioning it, but man I bet McNabb really wants to say "I told you so."

yeah to bad he wont get to win the SB, i'm sorry but the Pats are just to good overall, and it would take T.O PlUs a couple more miracles to have a shot at beating New England !

Well, I'm not a fan of Rush Limbaugh in any way...

BUT, there is a certain angle presented by some sportscasters to put McNabb on a pedestal just because of his race. How many times did you hear last Sunday that two black QBs were playing against each other? (answer: too many to count)

Why does it even have to be an issue? Why bring race into the the presentation? Why not just talk about how GOOD they are, instead of point out the fact that they are black? (nothing was ever said that two white QBs were playing against each other for the Patriots/Steelers game, nor would I want to hear it)

Most WRs in the NFL are black. So why didn't they specifically mention that a WR was white when he made a good play? I mean, obviously a good white WR is an exception to the rule.

It is a double-standard, and from what I understand, this standard is what Rush was talking about, NOT the fact that McNabb was black. From what Dan Patrick said on ESPN radio and interviews with Philly reporters, there actually exists a double-standard to excuse McNabb in many instances of bad performances just because of his race. They admitted that they are guilty of doing so, and said what Rush was talking about was actual fact.

In his notorious ESPN comments last Sunday night, Rush Limbaugh said he never thought the Philadelphia Eagles' Donovan McNabb was "that good of a quarterback."

I think McNabb has been a better QB this season with an upgrade @ WR .

I think the issue revolved around the statement that McNab wasn't playing that well and the defense had carried him & the offense for a couple of years and the press glossed over it because of race. All of that is fairly true. McNab has started doing better with a better offesive group and he is making better decisions.

well ya wanna get right down to it,,,,if you are watching a football game on TV nowdays and you count the black players to the white players, you may be very suprised to find that 85% of the players in the league are black. Now i'm not rascist AT ALL !!!

If the media glosses over anyone's performance, then they are doing everyone a disservice.
