Ok follow me on this. I know it is risky but hey live a little.
As some polls I've seen have Antron Rolle & Adam Jones dropping let's do this 1. Drop down swapping first round & select Rolle or if gone, Jones. Yes I know both could be gone. If so, go for best ntackle. Pick up a second rounder. 2.Trade DD to Miami for 2005 2nd round, 2006 2nd & 5th. Allows Miami to pick another starter in 1st & Davis is bonified 1,000ydr with 2 cheap years on contract. Offense is made for him. Now Houston has 2-second rounders. 2006 deeper draft. Don't scream yet! Both teams keep secret until second round. 3. Trade Houston's own 2nd, 3rd (Dallas) & Texan's 5th up for a 1st(prob somewhere 20-25. (See last yr for Babin) Select CJ Mosier N.T. I haven't seen him in first round any mock. 4.Trade 2nd round(Miami) Houston's own 3rd, &Houston's 4th for highest 1st possible & select Maurice Clarrett. OK, I hear the groans. Really, I don't think his shennagins can't be fixed by Capers. I think he has the goods. Hollings is in a make/break year & I'm still hopeful. A 3rd down back can be addressed in Free agency. Of course if one of the other solid rb's drop, BPA. 5. Use the 2nd rnd from dropping down in 1st to select best receiver avail. I like Johnson, Gafney, Armstrong with this selection pushing Starling. 6. Sign Joppru to reworked 3 yr deal @ about 2 million. Like Bocelli, he should be willing to adjust this last yr of orig deal as he sat for 1st 2. Miller & Joppru & Maybe bring back Jabari Holloway as no one gets many catches anyway. 7.Breuner, Bradford & Banks gone & use that $ plus cap space to go hard after Walter Jones O.L. 8. Ragone & BJ Symons back up Carr. OK, IF & it's a big IF, we get Rolle or Adam Jones @ c/b, CJ Mosier DT, Maurice Clarrett rb, a solid WR, an additional 2nd rounder in 2006 + a 5th AND Walter Jones I will be so happpy!! OK tear it up

Forget about Clarett.
Don't trade a pick unless it's just a few spots and you can pick up the player + a pick and still get the targeted player they want. If Joppru can't make it on the field this preseason it's over. They've wasted enough time and effort trying to get him on the field. I'd try to sign the Jets backup RB..Lamont ?.....I can't remember his last name..as a FA. I think the guy has tons of talent. |

Anybody remember the scene in Back to School where Dangerfield is in the business class?
Professor--now where should we build our widget factovery? Dangerfield--how about fantasyland. Clarrett will probably be available on the 2nd day just to start identifying the problems.

I would'nt touch Clarrett or however you spell it with the Cowboys pick. Yuck ,why would you want Randy Moss with half the talent. I'd take the Navy guy before him ,yuck.

trade D.D ? Didnt he prove anything to anybody ? Well he did to me, so what he had a rough start, he picked it up in the second half of the season and the run blocking was improving and it is the perfect scheme for Davis. So NO, dont trade Davis have you lost your minds ?
