That's the feeling I'm getting as well. It's surprising b/c this whole issue seems very out of character for DeMeco but you never know when it comes to money. Hopefully it was the agent.

Maybe this good news can help curve the perception that some of the key players are disgruntled, I just don't think that is the case with most. OD's article sounded like him wanting to get a deal do and being honest about not wanting it to drag out. Demeco wants to get a deal done too according to quotes from him. The only real issue in my mind has been Dunta, I believe he is truly unhappy and they are much farther apart than the other key signings we need to get done.

I just have a hunch I can't shake that Dunta wants out of Houston. Turning down 23 million when you aren't even 100% from a catastrophic injury? Either he's completely unrealistic or he's trying to price himself out of town. I think he wants to go but doesn't want the "*********" stigma that guys like Ochocinco get when the get vocal about wanting a change of scenery.

Sheesh...I think that's nowhere near a realistic number for DeMeco to use.

That's $7 mill a year, and while I know it's not all "guaranteed" so to speak...it's still going to be a pretty healthy figure.

So it goes when you draft young studs. Mario is already making bank, but now Dunta, Demeco, & OD all want in. Can't say I blame them though because they have put in the work and all of them are Pro-Bowl caliber players. Good thing we have so much cap room.

You think Lofa Tatupu is a better player? If you're arguing that the number is high for Tatupu as well, then I can agree to that, but that ship sailed long ago. Dollar figures are simply FUBAR in sports.

We have a ton of cap space this year, but that doesn't mean we can give everybody long term contracts to make them happy. You'd be suprised how quickly those contracts catch up to you in 2-3 years.

meh. reeves been ok. the biggest robber the last few yrs have been green (good when healthy- all of 5 games probably) & weaver (near total waste). reeves has stayed on the field & made some plays

Reeves would be much better if he could lose that pesky bad habit of forgetting to keep an eye on the ball. He's fairly good when he does know where the ball is.

I agree that Dunta has had it with the Texans which is too bad, really. He stuck it out this long and 23 million is nothing to sneeze at. I personally think that is a pretty fair if not more than fair $ for him. Dunta might want to think about being careful what you wish for - he could end up in a much worse place than he is now with a lot less upside.
