So who are the players who you saw today that impressed you? For me it was the OT Kaczur, I've seen him play before and I think he is projected to play OG at the next level. He played hockey for a couple of years before going to Toledo.

Grigsby [2 takcles and 2 assists] looked good, but (and I hate to say this with all the pub Boomer gets, and he sounds like a great kid) Liam Ezekial was a MONSTER [6 tackles and 1 assist]. The only question with Ezekial is can he drop into coverage, cause Grigsby certainly looked like he had the speed to do it. Plus Grigsby was a beast on special teams.
Darrel Reid, DT form Minnesota, looked good. Drew the occasional double team, and free-ed up which ever backer played behind him pretty constantly. 2 tackles 0 assists and a sack (only player to register a sack). Sidney Haugabrook, DB from Delaware looked decent. 2 tackles an assist 1 pass defended and an INT. Brandon Jacobs, RB form Southern Illionis, also looked good. May have changed teh minds of some teams about changing him into a TE. Kid ran over a few players today. 11 rushes for 102 yrds 2 tds with a long of 52 yrds. The biggest disappionment was Scott Mruczkowski, C from Bowling Green. Kid looked strong, but I never recalled him getting to the second level of the defense. I agree with F-minus......Kaczur impressed me the most. Stephon LeFours aslo had a tremendous game.......his stock just sky-rocketed, and is now locked in as a 1st day selection. I hope Casserly is not getting any ideas.
Did anybody watch the other All-Star game, the one played in Florida? I did and a couple of guys stood out for me. The kid from Hampton who was a WR, is an awesome player who is reported to run a 4.25 40. He ran a punt back for a touch, and took a WR reverse to the house as well. I wonder if we can get him in the 4th round range and let him come in here and challenge J.J. Also Bryon Jones of Texas A&M, a CB from Bay City (my hometown) had a tremendous game on special teams, forcing and recovering a fumbled punt return, and making tackles on both punts and kickoffs. This kid has a great work ethic, and he might be a rookie free agent, just someone we might bring in here and maybe put him on our practice squad. Might be a 7th round pick. |
