IIRC....we were sitting in the thirteenth slot......there were two players we coveted, Derick Johnson and Jamal Brown. No one knows.....but CC got the phone call to move back to sixteen and pick up a pick. Brown went off the board....then Derrick Johnson went off the board two picks latter. Technically you're correct...they passed on Derrick Johnson. However, Travis fit a need and I think hind sight has proven he was selected twenty spots too high.
And basically CC's gamble blew up in his face. Which was a common failing when CC was drafting players.
