Personally I'm not a big fan of this pick. I just don't see the Jets selecting ANOTHER Tight End in the first round. Dustin Keller played very well and they've got good depth at that position.

With the 18th pick the Bears select Aaron Maybin DE Penn ST 6' 3 1/2" 250 #

Explanation: The Bears have 2 of the best LB in the NFC and one of the worst Pass defenses last year. So with no CB rated high enough the best way to go is to pressure the passer to help the pass D out. While WR and DT were also a consideration here, I went with the highest rated player on the board at a need position.

Here's his explanation . I guess I'd be ticked a bit because the purpose is to simulate the real thing and one pick will throw the whole thing out of whack . Besides I wouldn't want the Texans to take Wells .

you guys are taking this mock way too serious. its true that the texans have never taking a running back in the first round but that doesn't mean its not a possibility. none of us ever heard of aaron maybin until last year, dj moore is a reach in the first round, brian cushing wouldnt start in our defense and isnt worth a first round pick in imo and there is word he might be on steroids. and yosarian, this whole mock is very unrealistic! we cannot even trade picks. we have more first round picks on our defense that we do on offense. yet, our offense finished #3 and our defense #23. i have always said that our problem on defense had more to do with the scheme than our personel.

everybody claims wells is injury prone but i couldn't find any other injuries besides the toe injury he had and he only missed 3 games due to injury his entire college carreer. he put up better numbers than moreno. this guy is a stud.

The Bucs have quite a few needs. WR is one of them and Maclin is the highest rated player still on the board for the Bucs. Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard are on their last legs and Michael Clayton hasn't shown anything since his rookie year. Antonio Bryant will have to be a one man show unless he gets some help. When it came down to it, the Bucs couldn't resist the allure of Maclin's potential and big play ability as a WR and a return man.

1. "None of us ever heard of" Mario Williams until the year of or before the draft- bad excuse by CrazyFanThatPickedWells.
2. DJ Moore has been a steady riser, but if he's a reach... don't pick him.
3. Brian Cushing would instantly start at SLB on this team, who would start ahead of him, Diles? I have high hopes for his recovery but I believe Cushing would be more game ready than Diles at Week1. Not worth a 1st round/steroid allegations? Fair to me, there are a lot of ?'s about Cushing, including his injury history.

Very good point and that very well could be the case... but does that necessarily mean we avoid adding more talent to a squad that does need it?

Wells has had ankle and wrist injuries during his Jr. year. Main injury was his toe injury that got him carted off the field and missed games, also has had hamstring issues.

Another "stat" junkie. Maybe he should get his stats right even if he's going to use that arguement for transitioning into the pros... which i'm against.

Maybe Colt McCoy should have declared. He had better stats than Matt Stafford so Colt easily would have been selected before him!!

I like it. Perfect spot in round 1 for Maclin, and a team that needs help at WR since Clayton hasnt exactly become a true #1 WR.

Okay folks we have learned that the San Diego Chargers will be giving up Tyson Jackson, their 3rd round pick #78th overall & San Diego's 6th round selection.

San Diego in return, will be getting Denver's 20th pick along with Denver's 48th pick.

Trade analysis:

Denver
1st (20): 850 points
2nd (48th): 420 points
1,270 total points

San Diego
1st (16): 1000 points
3rd (78): 200 points
6th 20 points
1,220 points

I didn't think Maclin would make it down to #19 so I had plans to trade back, but they got nixed when Pettigrew was selected and the other team canceled on me.

I'm happy with this though. He was the highest available player on my board at my biggest need so I'm not feeling too bad about it.

With LT past his prime & Sproles possibly leaving the Chargers select their RB of the future with Mereno. LT & Mereno will be a good 1-2 punch next year.

I was really interested in this selection. I think Moreno is a great pick especially after being able to move back a little and get back into the 2nd round. It wouldn't surprise me if the Chargers move back on draft day.

If Houston wants to move back, we may actually be better positioned b/c the Chargers will probably want a 2nd rd pick.
