Larry Lacewell (Director of Scouting) has been released from his duties.
If you look back at our drafts over the past 10 years, you can get an idea of how long I've been waiting for this day. |

There's hope, unless it's true that Jerry's been runnign the drafts (see the Quincy pick) and not Lacewell.

The DMN said he "retired". I suspect he was asked to "retire" although maybe not because it's well known he's a Jerry guy. I raked them over the coals for the JJ pick and it turns out that kid has major talent so hopefully they can do well this year and get some players. Either side of the ball..just get some players. |

I don't want Bledsoe. I don't want Vinny back.
Bill Parcells got on my last nerve a long time ago. |

But Vinny is coming back, something I love to tell all the 'Boys fans I work with. But I'll give Big BIll credit for teh trade down/JJ pick; it was a smart move.
The biger question is will the team bring somebody to consult/scout or will it be in Jerry's and Bill's hands? |

Don't know if it's 100% that Vinny will be coming back. I heard his comments after the Giant game and he gave the standard "I'll have to take some time and think about it" answer....uh....I like Vinny and wouldn't mind if he came back as a backup/tutor type role but not as the starter.
And I'm just guessing but if Parcells comes back himself I would think he'd run the draft for the most part. Julius was his pick and not Jerry's from all I've ever heard or read. He's totally botched the QB issue though IMO. |

Botched the QB Issue? What QB issue, you mean...drew....hahaha...Henson...hhahh If I was Parcells I wouldn't let that guy touch a football field. The best players play, and if you're not better than Vinny, well, let that sink in.

While I don't think Drew Henson was a bad move for the Cowboys (I apparently disagree with Ihategeeks on that one) I do think Parcells was right to not let Henson get rushed onto the field as some kind of "annointed one". He's not. He's a guy who's going to sit for (IMO) two years before he's ready to start, if in fact that's going to happen. I think Henson has the skills to be the Cowboys starting QB but he's going to need to absolutely know every facet of the system before he's thrown to the wolves. Know it inside and out. His route to the starting spot is necessarily going to be different than that of a guy who's coming off of his senior season of college ball.
In the only comparison I'm going to draw between Henson and Hutchinson I'm saying that both of them had no business starting a game in their first season back to football. |

Actually Henson has played well in a very limited role except for the half against the Bears or whoever that was. He's never going to learn unless he plays. That's just common sense. I'd have played him but they didn't ask my opinion so he sits.

How can you guys blame Vinny? He was really playing great ball this year. You guys have 3 pluses this year, Williams, Vinny, and Jones. It's not his fault that you didn't have a running back 'till week 10 and a bunch of short armers out there.
Sorry, Vinny may be old, but calling for the guy's head seems pre-mature to me.

The defense was the problem for Dallas last year. Hard to believe they were #1 overall in 2003. They really screwed up by letting Mario Edwards get away.

I heard on a stream from the Dallas ESPN show the other day where the Cowboys may switch to a 3-4 next year and will probably have major changes on that side of the ball. Seems Parcells is more comfortable with that defense. They already fired their O line coach.
