15) EVERETTE BROWN, DE, FLORIDA ST. It's now clear that the Texans made the right decision when they chose Mario Williams over Reggie Bush but they still have issues at defensive end opposite "Super Mario". Anthony Weaver has not been the player they had hoped for and there is little or no depth to speak of so word is the Texans are looking for a pass rusher with this pick. Florida St. defensive ends do not have a great track record in the NFL, with Kameion Wimbley's recent struggles in Cleveland being the latest example, but that won't stop Everette Brown from going in the first round. Brown doesn't have the ideal bulk that you look for but he is a great athlete with excellent speed and is coming off a fantastic season with the Seminoles that saw him rack up 21.5 tackles for a loss and 13.5 sacks. The Texans would also like to bring in a stud at safety but since Taylor Mays opted to return for his senior season there probably isn't one worthy of this pick. There should be plenty of pass rushers available though and if Brown is gone they could take a look at Brian Orakpo or Aaron Maybin as well. It may just boil down to who is available and which guy they prefer but at this point it looks like a very good bet that Houston will go defensive end in round one. Keep an eye on the Dunta Robinson situation too though because if he leaves as a free agent cornerback will all of the sudden become a need as well. All of the signs point to a defensive end though.

i'd LOVE it but it won't happen.
GB is implementing Caper's 3-4 D and they need an end for it and, unfortunately, Babin isn't in this draft. (why does he keep getting jobs?) SF has a bust in Manny Lawson and Singletary will want WINNERS on his team. BUF needs an end to play opposite Schobel DEN hell they'll take anyone who plays D. if Brown slips through all of the above they better get to the podium really damn fast. |

I would be pissed with Brown. Not as much as I was with the LT Brown, but still pissed.
