Here are the numbers after today's game

Chris Johnson

1094 yds 8 TD

Matt Forte

1081 yds 6 TD

Steve Slaton

1024 yds 8 TD

Speed Slaton can still win this, and so can the other rookies. Slaton is the most explosive back in the league with the most running plays of 40 yards or more(3) and 10 running plays of 20 yards are more(4th). He has fumbled twice in 206 attempts.

Why.....he hardly fumbled in college?? The only time he had problems is when he had that wrist injury. You can relax Texan fans, the guy won't lay the ball on the ground again.

that little dump off from Schaub to Slaton for 21 yards @ end of the first half was the most intelligent play I've ever seen in Texans history. Slaton could have easily picked up another 5-10 yards, maybe even scored, but he stopped the clock by heading for the sidelines saving one second on the clock so Brown could attempt a 41 field goal. that was a heady, heady play on Steve's part putting the team first. Doubt he really cares about individual meaningless awards over winning games

But he didn't look into the future and foresee that Brown would miss the FG, which is just inexcusable. Inexcusable, I say!

He's a beast. He did a great job of avoiding the brunt of hits today and sliding by defenders. As long as he can stay healthy he's our most consistent big play threat (he gets far more touches than AJ). All we need is a bruiser to punch it in when we get inside the 10 and give Slaton a breather and our ground game is solid.

Steve should be able to surpass those guys after we play the Raiders (assuming we hold Chris Johnson and Matt Forte in check when we play them as well).

Just don't ever forget that AJ is the biggest reason that Walter and OD get all those other touches. Every secondary we face is focused on AJ.

Absolutely, AJ completely changes how defenses approach us, but Slaton's delivering the most consistent big yard plays these days, and those are devastating to opposing D's confidence.

Yes, but we still need to get him a complimentary back. We cannot run him into the ground like we did to DD.

Chris Johnson is pretty good - his numbers suffer because Lendale gets many of the TDs, although Johnson gets more carries.

Other than that, all three running backs look very good. Slaton's explosiveness at any time from anywhere on the field make him fun to watch.

Yup, this was a fantastic draft class for offense, all around, really.

Two QBs who led inredible turnarounds
3 or 4 running backs that are having probowl seasons already

At one point he had twenty five touches. I'm not exactly jumping up and down right now. That's nine more in my book than he should of had.

Yes Steve is putting the team first to cover the font offices personnel mistakes. But at what cost ? He goes done Smith and Kubes will have their a$$es stick out big time. You don't plow the field with Secrateriate .

Baloney. No one would take that deal right now.

There is absolutely no reason to think that McFadden will be a better player than Slaton the way Slaton has played this season.

Bull corn....they busted every Rb they've picked and the twenty five touches is another domino falling. Slaton isn't going to be very effective if he's worn down and wrecks a knee because of it. this crap is on the folks on Kirby. they are making this bad luck with poor choices. Not football Karma. He's not the same back he was four weeks ago.

& I stand by the McFaddin post. As I recall there were quite a few people blasting us for the Mario pick three seasons ago. Big al calls you do the deal.
