Peter King of CNNSI.COM predicts that John Abraham from the Jets is headin to the Texans in the offseason as a free agent signing.... One of elite pass rushers in the game today, Abraham would be a huge addition to the defense..... another player who is available on the open market is TJ Houshmandzadeh as well as Mushy Muhammad both of which would be an excellent compliment to AJ.... Next year is huge for Carr - he must progress and get better or else he will be run out of town ... anything less than 20 TD passes is completely unacceptable.

6'4'' at 256 seems a little small for a DE in a 3-4, unless Capers would want to try him at . . . . (naaa, perish the thought)

Exactly. Abraham is NOT a 3-4 end. The only way he could play in a 3-4 is at OLB. So who do you sit down? Wong, who had a great year, or your 1st round pick. Peter King is full of sht anyways. |

I was just going to say that...you can put as much stock in King as you could in me pulling out my crystal ball and making offseason predictions.

Well, I guess it depends on where he pulled that crystal ball out of.

Well, I don't see 95% of what Peter King says coming true.Besides knowing that he is notoriously unreliable in predictions....Abraham doesnt even fit in your scheme. |

I'd love to have him (although I don't think it will go down). He can play standing up and I would put him in Wong's spot (move Wong into the Buc LB) and keep Peek as a situational pass rusher. He would be the impact type front-7 player we are looking for.

Does anyone have the link to where he says this? John Abraham would make an excellent OLB in the Peter Boulware mold.

Free Agency might be thin depending how much we are willing to keep some of our players that are up for new contracts. Abraham would be welcome in my book, he is just an awesome ball hawk.

Why don't we just pony up the cash & sign Jeremiah Trotter this year? He'd make our LB crew one of the best in the league (Wong/Trotter/Sharper/Babin, w/Peek in reserve).

That would be awesome, but it sounds like they are not going to pursue any high-end FA's.
Having Peek and Abraham on the edges would be amazing. |
