Looking On To The 09 Season - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

Where would you like to see the Texans improve the most? Top four off of the top of my head number one improve the running game. Number two stop the other team on third down. Number three cut down on turnovers (one of the main reasons why the Texans lost so many games this season need I say) and improve the second dary I think that I pretty much hit the high points here. Anything else that you all would like to see this team improve on?

1. Defensive Line (Defensive Tackle and Defensive End)

2. Offensive Line (Center and Right Guard)

3. Secondary (Safties)

4. Linebackers (Sam and Will)

You have got to build the Offensive and Defensive lines into something dominant. No team ever became a consistant winner without a great Offensive and Defensive line. If you control the LOS then you control the game.

i would just like to see our team work harder. play with more enthusiasm. we have to execute.

it starts with richard smith. first thing we have to do is execute him. if that doesnt work we execute kube's. and we just keep on executing untill we start winning.

man i think we need improvment on all three phases of the game

i just hope we do the obvious stuff like Fire Richard smith cut some players get some upgrades u know the usual

i hope we dont get rid of kubes and matt tho there get another year IMO

Evrything on Defense but its 08 soo im going to focus on that for now.

1. The Team needs to get rid of Richard Smith now and see if anybody on staff can do anything positive with this defense the rest of the year.
2. The rookies need to get som quality playing time so they can be honestly evaluated.
3. During the off-season an real effort must be made to find a quality guy as DC and I would like to see the team get a veteran QB that has some mobility and some game smarts so that when Schaub goes down and misses half the season next year, we will still have a serviceable QB. A work horse RB to alternate with Slaton would help also.
4. As bad as I hate to say this, yet another draft needs to be spent trying to get some talent on defense. We need to start with DB's ( a shut-down corner and a really good safety to start). Then we need a DT with size and a motor. Finally, if we can get a strong fast LB and maybe a stud DE for opposite Mario that would be nice.
