The NFL should just be like the NHL who got rid of ties by deciding games with a shoot out. The NFL can just have a punt, pass, and kick competition at the end of OT.

I think ties are the way to go. With the way the Texans are playing recently I think it would be better if every game ended in a tie. Then at the end of the NFL season every team should get a Super Bowl trophy. At this rate that's the only way we're ever going to get one.

No thank you to the college OT. That isn't even real football. Don't need to have a cow about changing everything when ties happen only once every 6 years or so.

If there's an OT change I think the NFL should do (which has nothing to do with this game) it's to let each team have at least one possession in OT. So if Jacksonville wins the coin flip and goes down and kicks a FG, then they kickoff and Houston gets a shot. But once each team has had a possession, then it becomes first to score. So team A wins the toss, throws an interception, team B then goes 3 and out and punts, then team A breaks off a 65 yard TD pass, game over.

Just give each team at least 1 possession instead of letting a coin flip give one team an advantage over the other.

I have always felt that is the way the OT should be handled. In your scenario if team B scores on that interception or on the resulting offensive drive game would be over also since team A had a posession.

Or each team gets the equal amount of posessions. In your scenario if team A gets the ball back and scores then team B gets another posession to tie and extend the game or win with a go ahead score. This would be similar to college except they would have kickoffs and play the real game instead of placing the ball in scoring territory.

Maybe Goodell should think about change. He should think about bailing out the Lions and give them 5 or 6 wins and see if they can recover that way. The Titans don't need that many wins, they can share the wealth.

Yeah, I'd prefer not to get too crazy with it. I want it to stay as close to being like the rest of the game as possible. One possession for each team, then sudden death starts after that, if it's still tied after one possession for each team. Continuing to give teams equal possessions, you run the risk of keeping things tied, and you don't want that.

The NFL should give the Eagles the loss based on general principle. If the Eagles (who were 5-4) can't score more than 13 points in 5 quarters against the Bungles, that spells 'Epic Fail' to me.

I honestly think what McNabb meant was that he goes all out to win and not to settle for a tie. That being said, scoring only 13 points in 5 quarters against the Bengals is pathetic.

lmao, they should have the coaches compete - so even the coaches have to be in shape and on top of thier game

Neither did I, neither did Andy Reid. I knew there were ties, I just didn't know how many overtimes the game went into. I've seen games go down to the last second in overtime and never heard a time mentioned.
