Shanahan is the Offensive Coordinator, but I hear Kubiak taking the heat for calling the plays.
So how does the chain of command work? Does Shanahan "suggest" plays to Kubiak, who agrees with the call, or vetoes it and calls his own play? Whatever the system is, it isn't working. |

I'm not sure but whomever called a pass on first and goal at the one needs to be shot.

Actually, I do. I call that there will be turnovers, and there always are.

Here is a quote from Kubiak right after the Viking game. Interesting that he doesn't take his own advice, or just tells the press and the fans what we want to hear. Either way, it was obvious that Kubiak never intended to run the ball more Sunday vs the Ratbirds. I really don't think he has a clue sometimes. I mean, yeah great passing games always move the ball between the 20's (c- RnS) but if you don't even try to run....you won't win many games in the NFL (c-Denny Green's Cardinals).

Kubiak needs to put the plays down and let Kyle call the game. He is the head coach and needs to manage the game, the officials, and the players.

We could just chant in the stands, "RUN, RUN, RUN" when they need to run. Pass for pass. Timeout when we need a timeout. That way when we lose a game, it will totally be our fault...

I think there are lots of people in the stands and here who can make a much better decision than what Kubes tends to do within the 20s. As for me, my choice from the 1 yard line would be flea flicker!!! jk.

If I believe correctly, Little Shanny calls the plays, and Kubiak confirms them, he keeps shanny in check, just to make sure he doesn't throw a hail mary on 4th and 1(although sounds like something Kubiak would enjoy).

The problem is cronyism. Baby Shanny shouldn't be calling the plays. He shouldn't be an OC at this point. Kubiak is acting as a baby sitter, and it's obvious he is losing his concentration or something. He needs to either call the plays himself and act as his own OC, or get someone he trusts.
And them calling that pass on first down from the one was pathetic. But almost as pathetic was the whole afternoon. First play nets 8 or so on the pass. So they run two more passes? Next series, it's already obvious Sage is off, and they do the same thing. They played right into the Ravens hands. They didn't even try to keep them honest. It wasn't the Ravens who made the Texans one dimensional, it was the Texans themselves. Anytime your defense can focus on one part of the game, you are asking for trouble. Worst game plan of the year. There are so many issues with game plans, play calling, in game management, etc. It's just pathetic.
