Default for the majority, Texans are right on.

In a few months from now, everyone will simmer down and talk about how he/she figured 7-8 wins for the Texans in this season. Overall they hit right about where I thought.. For me, the only thing that was frustrating is the inconsistancy (m/s?) of the team. I guess I got spoiled with the first 2 seasons where we saw close games instead of what we saw this season.. All I can hope for is this team continues to learn from its mistakes.

They hit the low end of what everyone pretty much expected (somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7 wins). The silver lining may be that they will come back with a chip on thier collective shoulders because of the last game.

They don't deserve to have a chip on their shoulder. This game was about a lack of heart and dedication.

Default For the majority of ticket holders, the Texans are way off

The stadium was filled with folks who are tired of seeing things go down like that every game. That's why everyone was booing. So were the radio waves after the game. The Texans are on pace to become nothing more than a mediocre team. Big changes are in order THIS offseason. If they don't happen, don't expect any better results from the Texans next season. They have no leadership on the team. Until that changes they won't be any better a team. One win better last season and two better this season reflects the increase in talent and depth on the team, nothing more. They only beat one team with a winning record and no playoff teams. No real improvement there.

Capers. Enough said. The team has showed some improvement but Capers is never going to take this team to the superbowl because he is out of his element as a head coach. He is a good DC and thats it. I wish we could slide him over to dc and hire a different hc.

what makes you think they will come back with a chip on their shoulder? how many times now have we lost the games we were supposed to win?.. over the years we have lost to the browns twice.. the chargers the bengals the lions.. im sure if i busted out the schedule for the last three seasons i could name some more.

How many times have I heard someone say "well now at least they have learned their lesson and will take every opponent seriously"

they havent learned their lesson.. there IS no chip on their shoulder... I dont know WHAT it would take to drive home the fact that they have to take every opponent seriously. Maybe the booing fans helped clue them in.

Whatever.. ya know alot of the blame may need to fall on the coaches. sometimes when a team loses to the easy teams and wins against the tough teams.. that shows that there is a lack of discipline. The coach will prepare the **** out of them for those tough games, then they will just breeze through practice for the easy games. the result is a flat team that loses to the freaking browns.

I really dont think they prepare to lose for lesser teams. I believe the schedule is the same for every game, every week. And your teams you picked for losing were not such wise choses, the bengals have been 8-8 the last two seasons and next year will improve a lot, and the chargers won their division this season. The only way this team would show they were serious is if they didnt play starters, and that only happens in the last regular season games for teams already with home field advantage in the playoffs. They will be better next season if a few changes are made, more work on the oline play, getting our LBs to be Babin, wong, sharper, and peek, getting the passing game to be more consistent and beat the cover 2, getting some run stop from the dline.

Default Changes need to happen...

Their lack of preparation by the coaching staff for today's game was all too evident. Did anyone see what Carr was doing before the official warm-up on the field? He was standing around the 25 or 30 yd line of the North side of the field in a throwing contest with what looked like Davis, Johnson, and possibly Gaffney to see who could throw it over the "crossbar." Why in the world weren't they working on game related plays and timing?? Clearly a lack of direction from the coaching staff. Since this was supposed to be "Fan Appreciation Day", why didn't they at least try to show up to actually win?! We're talking about playing a team with one of the worst records in the NFL, and who had not won a game on the road! Anyone would realize that they would come out "swinging." They had nothing to lose.
I, myself, have never missed a home game but if there aren't some much needed changes in the area of coaching in the off-season, I just might consider selling my season tickets. Without a change in the coaching staff, we'll just have more of the same inconsistency, poor game planning, unimaginative play calling, and predictable formations. Heck, if I can tell what type of play is called from my seat in the stadium, just think how easy it is for the defenses we face!

I personally think some fans go overboard. there are no "gimmies" in the NFL, but in a fans eyes somehow there are. In my eyes we have won games that we shouldn't have and lost games that we shouldn't. It is all in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, it was a stinker of a game.Even, Chad Stanley had a poor game. Unlike the naysayers..I'm not looking to cut Capers loose; he is on the clock, though. should be an interesting offseason. The OL needs to be upgraded via FA; otherwise, it will severely limit our production (wins),

Changes to the O are needed especially pass protection.Another season like this next year and changes at coaching level will need to be addressed.

"Some fans" are simply following the media hype. They read a sports reporters take and think the Texans have the win before the game starts. Like the Cincy game in 2002. The Texans should be one of the last teams to take opponents lightly especially after Walker's comments last week.

Overall I think you guys had a good year, considering that you are still not all that far removed from expansion status. A season ending loss is always hard to swallow, especially with no playoffs, but the season as a whole went pretty well for you I thought. And the bright side to all of this is....you are a few pieces away from being a legit playoff contender, and a few more pieces and experience away from being a deeper playoff threat.

Your O-line is just.....abysmal, fix the O-line and right there you upgrade Carr, the Wr's, and DD. Furthermore, a good O-line means you don't need to keep the TE(s) in to help save your qb from being killed, and thats another receiver in pattern and another target for Carr. If I was a Texans fan, and they didn't fix that O-line for next year, I'd be mailing back my season tickets. One piece of the puzzle that affects so many other areas. In fact, I'd go heavy on O-line help and then second work on the D-line. Your skill position players on both sides of the ball are solid and have a lot of upward potential. Fix the lines and you are probably looking at playoffs next year, especially with the continued maturation of the offense.

Carr's comments on the radio about two minutes ago implied scheme being the problem - not personnel.

I'm sure he was open - as Carr was running for his life or trying to dodge the bad guys.

yah he was definatly getting way to much pressure. still.. after throwing it away/running out of bounds for the third or fourth time.. I would think they would say "hey, look at how Johnson is open 90% of the time, why dont we try and get him the ball quick before the rushers have a chance to smear carr all over this crappy turf"
