These are things that I think we need to do.
FA Sign Chris Gamble & Luke McCown Trades Trade Sage for a 3rd rd.pick Trade the 3rd we got for Sage & a 4th for a 2nd rd pick Trade our 3rd this year & a 2010 3rd for a 09 2nd rd. pick. My new mock with the three 2nd rd. picks would go something like this RD1 Curry lb Wake Forest Best lb in draft he is a playmaker RD2 Alex Mack C-G Cal Best interior OL in draft RD2 Everette Brown DE Fla. St. Speed rusher lots of potential to improve RD2 Jonathan Luings C Ark. Powerful tough C can help control Haynesworth RD5 Marlon Favorite DT LSU Big powerful run stopper RD6 Kyle Bell RB Col. St Big hard nosed back to compliment Slaton RD7 Henry Melton DE Tex. Developmental DE played pos. 2 years has talent If we made these moves our lineup would look like this Ofense QB Schaub, McCown RB Slaton, Moats, Bell WR Johnson, Walter, Anderson, Davis, Jones TE Daniels, Dressen, Bruener RT Winston, Butler RG Mack, Breisel C Luings, Myers LG Pitts, Studdard LT Brown, Salaam Defense DE Williams, Cochran, Bulman, E. Brown DT Okoye, Robinson, Okam, Favorite LB Ryans, Diles, Curry, Bentley, Thompson, Coley CB Gamble, Reeves, Molden CB Robinson, Bennett, Faggins SS Ferguson, Brown, Harrison FS Wilson, Demps K Brown P Turk If we made these moves we would have a young talented OL, a pass rusher opposite Mario, a young playmaker @ lb to go along with Ryans, a young vet. CB to go along with a healthy Robinson & Depth @ DB. Mr. McNair has to spend money on the 2nd rd.picks & Gamble. This is a pivotal offseason & we need to think outside the box. Fire Dick Smith, Greir, Hoke, & Riley Thoughts |

Yeah we should've traded him last year when his value was @ its peak.
If he does well will you be on the trade him or keep him bandwagon? What do you think of the overall plan. If we cant trade Sage I believe we need to still trade the 3rd & the 4th to move into the 2nd rd. That way we can solidify the interior OL & get the pass rusher we desparately need. Thoughts |

Isn't this the last year of Sage's contract?

He has the same background as Sage when he was with MIA. I wonder what Sage's value is to some people on this board? !st rd. 2nd or 3rd Pick We're going to finish 6-10 or 7-9 with Sage I would rather take my chances with McCown & Mack or Luings than Sage & a 3rd RD. pick. Loings & Mack can help keep Schaub healthy. |

I sure hope Sage plays lights out for the rest of the season and drives his value thru the roof so some team like Minn will make a nice offer to take him off our hands ..... Tho I may regret saying that the next time Schaub goes down.

When your team stinks you need to plan ahead to fix the problems.
I hope Rick Smith & the scouts are thinking in pro-active terms. |

I am hoping this next draft we see a top tier Defensive player who can make an IMMEDIATE impact whether at LB, DE, Safety, or CB. We need a guy who can step in day one and be productive. No more project first rounders. Second round we need to address the interior of the OL. After that BPA. To OP. Unless by some miracle Sage steps in and plays lights out(for 4 quarters a game guys) during his time as a starter good luck getting the same offer we got from Minnesota. |

I really want us to get either Mack or Luings.
It would complete our OL. We really need to try to get another 2nd rd pick. That would allow us to get the pass rusher & C-G that we really need. |

Any chance we can get Kyle Orton?
My OS plan would be to first resign/extend our FA. OD, DeMeco, Dunta. Whoever is off the books or coming close to being off, that we deem important to our franchise, we need to give them a new contract. I would also try to redo Schaub contract. If's he willing to restructure it then I would keep him, if not then let him walk. I bet he would be willing to do it, considering how deep his stock plummeted down the sh!tter. He would be getting a deal worth around his value here, if not alittle more then other team will pay if he's a FA, and won't have to learn a new playbook or scheme. If we have any money left then I would go for a back-up RB like Correll Buckhalter or Maurice Morris. I would also try and get a back-up QB like JP Lossman or Kyle Boller, assuming that Smith/Kubiak intend to trade Sage or unwilling to offer an extension to his contract. Next, I would go into the draft with a need board like this: 1-DE 2-S/C/RG 3-DE(2)/DT/S 4-S/C/RG 5-OLB 6-BPA 7-BPA Here's the list of the upcoming FA. http://www.footballsfuture.com/freeagents.html Last edited by J-Russ; 11-04-2008 at 06:13 PM. |

I hope Sage plays well & increases his trade value.
If he plays well & we can get a 3rd for him we should take it & sin another backup QB as you suggested. Then maybe we can draft an interior OL that we badly need. Have you noticed that Schaub has gotten hurt whenever we play teams with great DT's. This year Min. Wiiliams Last year SD Jamal Williams & Tacks Haynesworth. |

BL
It would send the geeks into a frenzy. It would also allow us to pick up 3 of the 5 starters that we need to become a complete team. I agree OLB is our most pressing need. That is true regardless of how well Adibi does. |
