For those of you who may not have read this yet, I liked what Chris Carter said about the Texans when he made his prediction for the game...I especially liked what he said about the Jags/Raiders prediction...LOL....Hes picking the Raiders to win.... The Texans are a franchise going in the right direction. They made the correct call by drafting David Carr, and they've gone out and put some talented people around him like wide receiver Andre Johnson. The defense slowly is improving, particularly the pass rush and pass coverage with Dunta Robinson, an unbelievable rookie who could earn the tag of a shutdown corner in the next couple of years. The Texans will get better next season. Prediction: Houston. Now heres his Jag prediction: It's unfortunate but the game that the Jaguars needed Fred Taylor they didn't have him. Last week, they played a Houston team that plays a very, very physical game and got shut out without Taylor, who sat out with a sprained knee. It's just the way the injuries fall. That injury and that loss is going to keep them out of the playoffs. Prediction: Oakland. |

Because Peter King only cares if it involves "Mary Beth King" or some New England/Boston connection he can babble on about for a couple pages. He's one of the guys that if Houston won the Super Bowl, he'd probably write an article about how his daughter had pancakes for breakfast.

"They play a physical game." That's a cliche, all teams play physical, its football for crying out loud.

glad to see they are paying attention!! Quote from the article..... ``This is the best defensive game we've had in our three-year history,'' Jaguars coach Dom Capers said. LOL they don't even know what team Capers coaches for. |

I don't know why people get the idea Jacksonville is better than us. Beaten twice without even much effort and although they have one more win, their "wins" have been flukey weirdo games that come down to the last second or some bonehead play by the other team. Houston beating them shouldn't still be called an "upset" really.

I hate always saying "Next year this" and "Next year that" but hey, I'm a Houston fan. It's habit. |

well.. the jags HAVE been more consistent than us. They are perhaps lower than us on the talent scale, but they havent had any big losing streaks like us either.
Basicly, I think we are the more talented team.. but they are the more consistent one. In the end, we both turned out to be pretty even in the wins/losses column.. but they did it with less overall talent... which is why they are technically the better team. However, we beat them twice, so you COULD say we are better than them. But the dolphins beat the Patriots and no one would say they are anywhere NEAR as good as the pats. Im not saying our sweep was a fluke.. just that, in the grand scheme of things, sweeping a divisional opponent doesnt mean anything if you cannot bring that same dominance to the field in all your other games. Im proud of us .. but I would not go so far as to say we are obviously the better team than Jax.. it is pretty even right now. If we can be more consistent next season, with our talent, we will be head and shoulders above jacksonville.

I sure was sick of all the talk about Limpy Leftwich this year as if he were the second coming of Jesus Christ. The TV football pundits were the biggest culprits, as usual. They're the biggest bunch of bandwagoneers in the history of sports. Now that the Jags are out of the playoffs, and have been beaten twice by a Houston team they failed to notice, talk of Limpy Leftwich's superiority is curiously absent from the same TV football pundits.

Robinson got some love from Shannon Sharpe... and Shannon said quoting here "My boy has the inside track at (defensive) rookie of the year".

Whats funny is that in Jacksonvilles inaugural season. The Oilers were the first team to beat them and the first team to loose to them and now the Texans swept them. Along with the weird coincidence that we swept the Tennessee traitors. History is an odd thing.
God! Family! Country! Texans!!
