Lets say someone wanted Andre Johnson.
And they asked the question.. Would you take our 1,2,3 and 4th round pick this year for Andre Johnson. Think about it.. effectively 4 for 1.. Would you?

I do not believe I would do this. Picks are good and that's a lot of picks. Andre is however a known quantity. He's a second year Pro Bowl reciever with a lot of years ahead of him. If the picks being offered were high enough then the 1st rounder might very well get you another player capable of doing what Andre can do. You could maybe find good players in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds as well but each and every one of those other three is a "maybe".
We aren't paper thin anymore. We aren't desperate for the extra picks. I'd keep my player who I knew was the real thing and keep plugging away at the draft with the standard number of picks everyone gets. Andre is a keeper IMO. |

No Way, you're not going to find a receiver ready to be a top 5 nfl receiver in his second year like Andre is. You probably wouldn't draft one in this draft that would ever be a top 5 NFL receiver. We need some o/d line help but we can address that w/ our picks this year and next year. This draft is to thin to trade for picks if this class were as good as last years then you consider that.

I would for the simple fact of our scouts. We have some awesome scouts who found Robinson, Babin, Peek, Johnson (opposed to going with a different WR that year), Carr (opposed to going with a different QB that year).
Even our late rounds havent been too bad with Ragone, Pitts, Wand, even a few others like Glenn Earl who has done a decent job. Others like Juppro and Hollings are yet to have the chance to prove themself. I would do it. Johnson is a OUTSTANDING player, but 4 very good players for one OUTSTANDING one trumps it I think. I am just glad I wouldnt have to think about it for real. I would be on stomach medicine for months.

Why do I feel like Demi Moore? Oh, yeah because if we said yes to the proposal we would get screwed.

Nope, I wouldn't do it. AJ is that good, IMHO.
Remember, we are not that far away from being really solid team. A player here (O-line) or there (pass rusher), and we'll make a run for it. |

I would say no. A proven Pro Bowl WR who is a top 5 or better player is more important than a group of MAYBEs. If it were 1,2 &3 for two years from a bad team (high picks) then I would look at it because that many first day picks could be team changing even if only half are hits. It is just too hard to find talent like AJ and we are not that desparet for bodies.

There is an old saying a bird in hand is better than two in the bush.So for me it would be who can we get to replace the impact AJ brings us.

If we could get Mike or Braylon, Id have to seriously consider it, and I probably would. We would end up with like Mike Williams and Thomas Davis or Marcus Spears or Rodrique Wright in the first round. That would be great.

No way!!!!! Why would you even consider that?? People get too carried away when they think about draft picks.
