I haven't seen Sanchez WOW me with anything brilliant. He hasn't been near what Leinhart was at this point and Leinhart has yet to show his coaches that he is ready to be a starter. Sanchez thus far has just been the HOT NAME at the moment while he is at USC just like Booty was. Let me see Sanchez blow me away with his skill set and abilities before I start to think that he is the guy that this franchise just has to have.

McCoy is a NFL talent, he has the arm, accuracy, and is very mobile....plus he's a coach's son, so he's got a high football IQ too.

He had one of the best freshman years in the history of the NCAA, had a sophmore slump because his Oline was beat to hell and he spent the entire year running for his life and got injured. Now his Oline is healthy and he's back.

McCoy is putting up better #s than Sanchez without the talent that Sanchez has around him. McCoy's recievers aren't that great (Not NFL talent.....Shipley is a solid smart lunch pale guy) and neither is his running game, McCoy is carrying that offense.

McCoy > than Sanchez......I hate to break that to you, but it's the truth. Honestly can't believe your going to drop the "McCoy isn't an NFL talent" line, then act like Sanchez is a viable option to be the savior of our team.......I mean it kinda defeats your whole argument.

I'm not a UT hater but they have played some cake ass teams so far and I could say that USC has played some cake teams also. UT needs to stop padding players stats with the C-USA and Sun Belt teams. I dont want either guy as it stands now for we should be looking at grabbing someone this year to groom.

Sanchez plays with better talent but also plays against better teams. He killed Oregon! Talk McCoy when he isn't padding his stats against the Rice Owls.

Same for Sam Bradford at this point.

It will be interesting to see how either fair against a team with a pulse on Saturday

Funny how 3 overrated big 12 teams are higher then your trojans, who should've dropped way lower then they did.USC doesn't even have to play a conference title game and that is assuming they win out to be outright champs.

McCoy might be NFL talent but he'd have to continue to add weight to his frame next year. You forgot to add Heisman front runner Chase Daneil to that list of QBs. Too bad Reesing is too small. chase isnt that much taller then reesing so they both will have the height knock

mccoy doesn't have the arm strength to run anything besides a WC offense and even that may be a stretch.

plus the poor guy has had to play under Greg Davis. it would probably take a couple years of quality NFL coaching before he could even get a sniff. I could see him being an Arena League champion though...maybe with the Dallas Desparadoes?

Calling McCoy a cheap white version of Vince Young has got to be one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard.......the only thing they have in common is they attended the same school, they are two completely different QBs......McCoy will rewrite the Texas passing records by the time he's done there.

What else is funny is how you try to question McCoy's leadership when Sanchez spent most of the night pouting by himself when his team needed him the most against Oregon St. Are you honestly going to call him a leader? Hell McCoy was the one that called him up at the end of the game and told him to "keep your head up, because your team needs you". He must've saw the same thing the entire country saw. If McCoy is QBing that team, they do not lose that game, they find some way to score a damn TD in the first half.

And also, please don't question the talent McCoy, Bradford, or any other big 12 QB is going to face.......they will all face 5x the talent Sanchez will face this year, Oregon aint that good buddy and the sad thing is.....it's probably one of the toughest teams Sanchez will face this season. Another year, another cupcake schedule for USC.

We must be watching two different QBs, McCoy has thrown balls across his body from one sideline down the field to the opposite sideline hitting his receiver right between the #s....arm strength is not a weakness of his.

This is absolutely absurd. He is very different than VY and the fact that he would be compared to VY in college is one hell of a compliment considering what VY achieved in his last two seasons.

However Cot is a much different QB, and I'll admit that at this point he hasn't played any real defenses yet and this week in Dallas will be a test against the Sooners. Then he'll have to play Missouri as well and we'll see then. I expect Colt to have some pretty big games. He's one hell of a dual threat QB.

UT might face better teams this year but I cant respect what you are saying about how McCoy is better right now since the only team I think they played so far that has any cred is Ark. since they are in a strong SEC. Now that will change once he plays some good big 12 teams. I myself would rather have Bradford or Stafford then anyone else, but I dont see this team taking a qb in the first 3 rds anyways.

Daniel has an above average arm, but it's nothing special, i.e: not ala Drew Brees. Daniel and Reesing are both amazing college QBs but sadly neither has much of an NFL future. Troy Smith was a little better as a prospect IMO than either of them are, and I love Reesing.

It pains me greatly to say this, but yall are leaving out a Big 12 QB who will most likely be the 2nd off the board and that is Kansas State's Josh Freeman. He will be an NFL QB even though he plays for K-State (a sin in and of itself) which is a horrible team now with Snyder gone.

Big 12 QB's - NFL potential wise:
1. Sam Bradford
2. Josh Freeman
3. Grahm Harrell
4. Colt McCoy
5. Zac Robinson
6. Chase Daniel

I can accept that over Mark Sanchez.......I don't really like that guy at all, really didn't like the way he acted against Oregon St. and the way he sat by himself and pouted.......what's going to happen when his team faces adversity at the next level?

Well neither was Brady when he came out. Big twelve currently has seven guys that I know of who could start for three quarters of the pack ten and SEC teams I've seen so far. McCoy has built his body to match what was required of him this season. He is not a great runner. But he's made himself into a good running QB. I guess you could say he's a no talent. But he just slipped by Criss Simms on the Texas all time pass list. What is he at now...82 % completions ? Heard one of the six ten guys say tonight that they had counted out eleven of his incompletions as plain drops by his wide receivers. So you could have made the argument last year the guy was over rated....anyone who is shoveling that stuff now doesn't know what he is talking about. The kid is on a roll and he has worked very hard to put himself into this position. It's true he isn't gifted athletically as a lot of others. One thing I know for a fact is that you will never ever out work the guy. Some folks in the NFL will take that all day long over the prima donnas. So remind us again what was the name of the last great USC QB who made it in the NFL ?

Sanchez is way better than Booty. That's all I'm gonna say regarding him.

As far as scheduling, Texas plays who they do because that's what the rest of the conference does. Whine about their schedule when A&M isn't playing Army every year or Tech isn't playing two or three FCS teams every single year. Why would they go play tough non-conference when they play in the second-hardest conference in college football?

As far as McCoy goes. Even if I weren't a Texas fan I would have to respect what he has done. The kid has some serious heart. But, he has average to above average arm strength & he would have to have a cannon at his size to stick in the pros.
