Can Gary Kubiak instill any discipline in this team? Today's loss was pathetic. I think it's clear that we are heading in the right direction talent wise. The offense has lots of weapons and at most could use some depth at OL. The D needs a few more pieces but everyone is turning it on. I think that Kubiak is a great offensive mind, but I'm starting to feel that he is incapable of instilling any discipline in this team. Sage takes most of the blame for today, but we need a coach who will insure that his team plays for the full 60 minutes.

I disagree with the premise of this thread. Kubes was right. He had sage as his backup. He is the backup because he lacks anything that remotely resembles discipline.
Everyone was calling him out saying "start Sage". He's seen what I thought he saw all along. The guy is talented, actually gets more than he should out of his talent if you ask me. But he does it by taking risks and as a QB that will burn you more often than not. Mike

Starting Sage is like starting Two Face.
Each decision he makes is like flipping a coin; could be great, could be cover your eyes awful, and chance being what it is, every positive outcome brings a bad thing closer and closer.

Agreed, combined with the fact that a game in which we have 1 penalty for 5 yards seems like an odd time to be complaining about the HC not being able to instill discipline.

Would you agree with loss of composure by the team?

The only lack of composure I saw was on Sage's part, and I'm not pinning that on Kubes.
Three examples of discipline (and I ask you to give me examples of non-discipline or lack of composure on the part of anyone but Sage). 1. Duane Brown falling on Sage's fumble after Freeney (Brown's assignment) forced a fumble. How many times have we seen more experienced linemen try to pick up the ball and "make amends" for their error by turning something bad into something better, only to end up turning something bad into something worse. 2. The onside kick was simply caught (by David Anderson I believe), and taken to the ground. No attempt to make a play where none was needed - they just made the play they should have, and went forward. 3. One penalty - 5 yards.

The Texans obviously have no clue what it takes to win a football game.

Look its just damn hard to take so fans are trying to blame everyone they can to make it feel better! Hell I just about wednt postal on the patrons of our local HEB! Why the hell is everyone shopping today? I needed to get away for a bit so I went. I was at the game and after the Texans last score a fair portion of the crowd but not all of the fans began to leave, some of the charter psl folks in section 514 and I laughed and said dont they know who we are and who we are playing? It was supposed to be a joke now I want to punch myslef in the face! Do you think some of those people who left are still happy foolishly thinking we won? Damn I wish I was them!
