It's getting to be that time...
Conference play is starting so I think it should be time for us to start throwing some names out there. My front runner: Chase Daniel (duh) My dark horse: Colt McCoy (really really really depends on how he plays against OU & Mizzou) Top Guy With No Chance: Tim Tebow (not because he isn't good, but because his stats won't be good enough to win it) |

they can't even wait to cast their votes until the regular season is finished, crunch time. those who win rarely ever attain much success @ the next level. Charles Woodson was the last defensive player who won (97) whats wrong here, defense not sexy enough? how bout all these world beater QB's who can't or never did hold down jobs in the NFL (Troy Smith, Matt Leinart, Jason White, Eric Crouch, Chris Weinke, Danny Wuerffel, Charlie Ward) RB list is not much better with exception of Reggie Bush (Ron Dayne, Ricky Williams, Eddie George, Rashaan Salaam) in the last 20 years only one QB Carson Palmer (02) & one RB Barry Sanders (88) really stand out & neither of them even sniffed a SB. the process completly whiffed on McFadden, Peterson & LT while missing both Manning brothers, wow, just wow the system is really broke
![]() anyone think Chase Daniel or Tim Tebow are great football players, the best in the country? I think not. Percy Harvin & Javon Ringer are better talents but that don't mean much. some truely great players who have overcome the odds & who will be great pros are guys like George Selvie DE & Michael Oher OT both probably won't even get honorable mention

The Heisman Trophy is given to the most outstanding player in collegiate football. Not to the player who has the best NFL potential. I agree on Scott. The guy looks good. One player who I have been impressed with is Knowshon Moreno, only a redshirt sophmore. |

so just because they have the best NFL potential takes them off the most outstanding player in college football list? I'm saying they're all that too, just not playing @ the prefeered Heismen trophy designated positions, do you get that

Umm, Colt McCoy is carrying the horns offense this year and dare I say it......looks like the best QB in the big 12. If Colt McCoy can find a way to get his team past Mizzou and OU, he has to be the front runner in the Heisman voting.

On a different note, I was giddy as hell watching them beat the crap out of Petrino. I like Arkansas, but Petrino can kiss my brown spot.

Not after the loss to Pitt.
He had an off day and to make it worse, his o-line got handled the whole game. The way Pitt controlled the clock, I'm suprised the final score was as close as it was. Tyller Roberts (USF Sr. CB) got dominated by a true freshman (Baldwin). He had at least two or three pass interference penalties in which he had to pretty much hug Baldwin to avoid giving up a TD. He also got beat deep for a TD anyway. The Big East can't catch a break. Their top teams continue to tumble. Last edited by bah007; 10-03-2008 at 10:12 AM. |

Colt looks great, but just like I tell all my other fellow Longhorn fans about him winning the Heisman and UT being ranked where they are, none of that means anything until they play Oklahoma. Oklahoma is the team that has had their number for this entire decade and the team that always cuts their hearts out. If Colt can have a big game against Oklahoma or Missouri then he should have a good shot as long as the rest of his season goes well. But what he's doing right now won't mean anything until he UT plays some real talented teams.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb & predict that the QB of the Big XII Champion is going to win the Heisman (whether it be Bradford, Daniel, or McCoy).
Dare I say maybe even Reesing or Harrell?... |

It's all about the stats and the results when two preceived giants knock one another off. Colt McCoy upsets Bradford next week...he leads the pack. I don't think Bradford can jump Tebow or Daniels. The media hasn't quite caught up to the fact that the big twelve is a QB league. And ....SEC guys the bowls will sepperate the fact from the fiction. I'm looking forward to the post season match ups. The two best college players, pure college Fb players, in the country right now are two Rice guys...Jarret Dilliard and Chase Clement . And niether will get a sniff at post season honors....although I bet money that Dilliard is on Dungy's radar.
