Lions Look Ready To Sign RB Benson

The Lions, evidently unhappy with their RB production, tried out RB Cedric Benson and now appear ready to give him a contract. Benson was scheduled to make an appearance at a charity event in Austin, Texas. "Unfortunately, but fortunately, Cedric Benson is not here today," city councilman Mike Martinez said. "He is actually signing a contract today to get back in the game with the Detroit Lions and the reason why that's a good thing is that the foundation will continue to grow as long as Cedric continues to do what he does on the field."
