Anyone see that interview on ESPN just now?
What a jagoff. Smart alecky condescending answers to legit questions about his team and a pretty big game tonight. I was planning to root for Tech but since he came across as such an a-hole, maybe now I'll root for Cal to kick his ***. (j/k most of his kids are from this area so I'll pull for TT) Last edited by aj.; 12-30-2004 at 07:13 PM. |

This must be the first time you've heard Leach speak. He comes across as cocky, but if you listen to his weekly shows out of Lubbock, you'll see that none of what comes across as smart slexy is meant that way. It's safe to say the man is one of the brighter offensive minds in the came right now; and if I'm not mistaken he also holds a law degree. Oh and by the way: TT is not an abreveation most Raiders like. And it's 31-14 Red Raiders. |

Tech just wants it more. Hicks' last reception showed that. 3rd and long, Hicks catches the ball 2 yards short of the first down but #11 on Cal cant bring him down and Hicks gets the first. What was that about Cal being in the Rose Bowl???

It would be over if leach would have just run the ball up the middle 3 times in a row, but i am enjoying his tailwhipping.

Most scouts have Arrington as the #6 back in the draft behind: (in no particular order)
Benson Brown Williams Fason McLendon Looking at this, and depending on if Deangelo Williams comes out from Memphis, I think you're looking at Arrington as an early 3rd rounder, but with a good all star appearance, maybe creeping up to mid 2nd |

Unlike John Bianco, SID for Texas. Now that guy is what I like to call NO class. Again, coming from a UT guy. |

i've been a tech student for the past 4 years now...i've heard all the classless comments from the ut students and the aggie students and it's old...it's funny that before tech started beating ya'll every other year people who went to tech we viewed as the students who couldn't get into a&m or ut which is pretty far off then once our programs started to gain on ya'lls out come the insults...just sad...as for the game...i loved it... number 21 in the nation upsets number 4...huge upset victory for my red raiders...and you're right we don't TT...it's tech or raiders

Even though I see a few of their games on tv every year, I haven't seen/heard Leach speak that often (he's not constantly put in front of us in a media sense). I'm guessing that others who don't see/hear Leach that often might have come away with the same impression I did. Arrogant, aloof, condescending, unprofessional, smart *** are all terms that came to mind during that one-minute interview. I kind of felt sorry for the reporter. Instead of grabbing the perfect opportunity to extol the virtues of 'Tech' and praise his guys or the opponent or even acknowledge the fact that they were glad to be there (I assume they were) he was an a-hole. Not picking on anyone or talking about anyone's coaching ability -- that's just how it hit me in a first impression kind of way - on a national broadcast. I'm not an Ag or a Horn. Aside from the coach, I'm glad his team won because most of his kids are from Texas and many are from the Greater Houston area. I'm also glad they stuck it to those those Cal weenies because of all the whining about the Rose and how they were so screwed. Well, a 7-4 or whatever Big 12 team just showed them that they were probably overrated. Arrington is a nice looking back though, isn't he? Last edited by aj.; 12-31-2004 at 07:04 AM. |

I definitely have mine. As far as the students having class.....I am sorry, I have had nothing but terrible experiences in Lubbock. I have been spit on (I never said one word...just happened to have my orange on), I had someone key TT into my car, and I have some dude try to start a fight with me and my friends. And all this happened when I was up there with a group of my sorority sisters. No guys with us...just us girls! I love going to games in College Station...actually all the Big 12 schools....but I will NEVER step foot in Lubbock, Texas again. I was seriously scared for my life! That is not what I think of as classy people. I know...everyone has bad things to say about UT. Yes, we have some ***** fans...a lot of them as a matter of fact.....We are all entitled to our opinions. Sorry but mine is not very high on TT. Upon going to games at A&M, Nebraska, OSU, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas.......I have always had a great time. I end up tailgating with them and having a blast! All this being said...obviously I am glad Tech beat Cal! I am off to the Rose Bowl and I have heard there are still going to be some Cal fans at the game. Maybe this will keep them quiet.......

[quote=aj.]Then why do you have it on your helmet? [quote]
The double T graphic on the helmet is different from the type abreviation TT. Last I heart Tech was still trying to get ESPN and other to use either TTU or the prefered T. Tech. Longhorn Babe, I'm sorry you had a bad time in Lubbock; but as we all say to those who bag Texans fans. You can't judge the fan base or the school or it's coach due to a bad expeirence. And yes I know all about teh a-hole UT fans in Austin; and thankfully teh board censors won't let me type what was yelled my way. But I don't hold it against teh school and it will not keep me from going back to Austin for a game. Hell, I even got blasted pretty bad this year at SMU, possible teh state's closet thing to an elitist school. And if you MUST bag on a Tech coach, pick teh one that truly is classless...Bobby Knight. |
