EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Vikings are benching quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in favor of Gus Frerotte.
Coach Brad Childress said Wednesday that Frerotte will start Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
Jackson started the first two games, both losses. He completed just 51 percent of his passes in those starts, prompting the coach to turn to 37-year-old journeyman Frerotte.

I have a feeling that Gus will do better.....man that second for Sage doesn't sound so bad does it right now Minnesota?

Gus Frerotte is washed up. bad long term move for Jacksons confidence & development. The Vikings will now probably use their 1st rd. pick on a QB next spring, or possibly a trade (Sage) for a second more likely.

I keep hearing rumblings on ESPiN radio and Fox Sports radio that Jeff Garcia is going to end up in Minny this year.

In fact, I want to say that I heard Fox's Steve Czaban pass the comment this morning that Garcia was expected to end up in either Minnesota or Kansas City by week's end.

Now, I can't link to it because it was on the radio and I can't even 100% guarantee what I heard because I had less than one cup of coffee in me at the time.... I guess, at this point, I'm just a rumor mongering fool.

Gruden is a buffoon for benching Garcia, but that goes with his terrible ego, so it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to trade him. lol the guy was 100% responsible for their winning the division last year, and Gruden benches him after one start this year. brilliant

Bastards! Jackson is on one of my fantasy teams after Brady went down for the season. It was slim pickin's at that point, so I grabbed Jackson and hoped for the best.

VY now Jackson, whose next? It's imparitive we keep Sage especially if Schaub continues to have bad games. Matt should only be given a couple more starts and if it does not look good then hand him the clipboard!
