Coach says they will work out 4 or 5 guys Tues. Cedric Benson ain't one of them.

I wonder who they will bring in.

It has nothing to do with being a "do-gooder". There is a reason he has been unemployed for as long as he has been. It's called not beeing a good running back which he has proven over the last couple of years. Benson has proven NOTHING in the NFL. More than likely, the guys they bring in have been cut recently and may be a surprise. Benson has been in the league a couple of years now and the only thing he has proven is that he cannot handle being an NFL running back.

I find all of the posts about the character of our players really interesting. In addition weak line play and a soft secondary, I guess we simply have too many high character guys on our team to win. We have had some issues, but a DUI and a charge for resisting arrest....well, it isn't enough to win in this league. If we had someone on the roster with a concealed hand weapon charge, perhaps someone found in possession with drugs...even better, possession of drugs with the intent to distrubute...something, anything, we would have been more competitive on Sunday.

We should bring in Cedric for a workout tomorrow...but I am just concerned that his rap sheet isn't where it should be to get this team over the top. I give him credit for adding the drunk boating charge by driving drunk, but I think we are going to need something more in the line of a felony to put the fear into the top defenses that we have yet to face.

Lets just hope Slaton and/orTaylor don't do such a good job of staying out of trouble...then we won't have to bring someone else in.

We don't necessarily need criminals but overlooking talent because they don't have a squeeky clean, spotless record is kind of dumb.
If a guy has paid his debt and is trying to turn his life around, why not give him a shot - albeit with a short leash.

who knows with AJ,Mario, Demeco and others with their work ethnic ... who knows what kind of influence that they would have on say a Cedric Benson? no body knows.. but to bring in 4-5 no names, I don't see how much they would help.. maybe it is james allen

A veteran with no history of DUI

A veteran with no history of wife or girlfriend beating

A veteran with no history of dancing lessons

A veteran with no history of substance abuse (including food)

A veteran with no history with less than 50% injury down time

A veteran with no history of ---king chickens (there may be allowable exceptions)
