Played in the SEC. Was ranked #9 DE in the 06 draft, going by Scott's ranking. He ranked him ahead of Dumervil, Chris Gocong, Frostee Rucker, etc.

Was taken in the 7th round, Panthers fans thought they had a steal back when they drafted him.

NEGATIVES: Undersized, lacks strength at the point and can be driven off the line by opponents. Hobbled with an ankle injury last season.

ANALYSIS: A surprise entry into this year's draft, McClover is a developing pass rusher who offers a variety of skills. Must physically mature and improve his strength yet offers starting potential.

I had McClover as the no.1 FA DE available.

He is a very good pass rusher (LOTS OF SPEED) & should make a good bookend for MW. He is not an every down DE. He got caught up in a numbers game in Carolina.

Lets sign Keith & we will have had a good off season.

My Panther buddy barely knew much about him. Says he is not horrible, but just a guy.

If he's been with the Panthers, he probably has had some good coaching.

But you never know. So much of the NFL is fit and opportunity.

In their first round of moves Sunday, the Texans signed defensive end Stanley McClover of Auburn. They were also able to add running back Darius Walker to their practice squad.

McClover, a seventh-round pick in 2006, was released by the Carolina Panthers in the final round of cuts after having an unimpressive preseason. He played in 11 games last season and finished with eight tackles. He appeared in just two games as a rookie.

In the preseason, the 6-foot-2, 263 pound end had five tackles in three appearances. To make room for him on the roster, the Texans released offensive tackle Cliff Washburn.

The Texans fielded their entire practice squad with players they had released Friday. Walker was signed to the practice squad, along with linebacker Kevis Coley, wide receiver Darnell Jenkins, defensive tackle Gabe Long, defensive end Jesse Nading, cornerback Derrick Roberson and wide receiver Mark Simmons.

I was thinking most of these guys would be on the PS, suprised that Moffitt is not however.

more expression of need rather than a complete football player who is any better than those not already added back to the practice squad. he does have the right size & measureables lets hope he realizes this opportunity & make the most of it, but I just can't see him beating out Bulman or even Nading. I beleive he is a practice squad player who has run our of eligibility & now has to stick on someones active roster.

An excellent natural athlete...Has outstanding speed and quickness...Agile with great body control and changes direction well...A tremendous pass rusher off the edge...Explosive and makes a lot of big plays...Does a great job in pursuit...Good tackler and shows some ability in space...Productive...Still has a massive upside.

Weaknesses:
Lacks ideal height and bulk...Does not have a lot of experience and is very raw...Is not very consistent and disappears for stretches...Needs to bulk up and get stronger...Is too aggressive at times...Struggles to take on blocks...Relies too heavily on his athleticism...Might be a 'tweener who has to change positions.

Notes:
Could be moved to outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme...Averaged about 12 tackles for loss and 8 sacks in his two seasons of playing time...Could have gone much higher with another year in college...A situational pass rusher at the very least...Has some physical tools to work with and his potential is very intriguing.

I'm watching the Steeler-Panther game. McGlover showed some pretty good explosiveness dropping the RB behind the line. Two plays later he got to Mendenhall behind the line.

He's not an every-down stud, but might do in the DL rotation

Decent pickup because of the potential he has, but at the same time this brings our number of DEs on the roster at 6 (7 including the practice squad). Other than Mario, I'm still worried we don't have a capable starter in the bunch.

I thought we were only carrying around 4........are you sure that you are not including DTs?
