How it looks for the draft. - This is only my opinion.
I know... i know.... Really early for this... but here is the picture as of right now, two games out from end of regular season. Currently 3 teams are out of it from us... meaning, they have worse records right now even if we lost the last two games and they won them. (San Fran, Cleveland, Miami) that means the best draft pick we could get is 4th (not counting ties going to schedule difficulty). Actually, if Tennesse won both and we lost both, they would tie us, and still fall behind us making the best we could hope for is 5th in the draft. Whew... that being said.. it gets alot harder... 8 teams right now are 5 and 9. that means they would have to win at least one game, we would have to lose a game and then either both win or both lose (not counting schedule difficulty concerning a tie). Odds are 5-6 of those wont make it past us... so that would make us having at least a pick number around 11th. There are six 6-8 teams including us. Odds are will be 3 will drop and 3 will excel. Draft number around 14th. One 7 and 7 (seattle) will probably lose to Atlanta and win to the Cards. We would have to win both games if they won the one for a tie (then be up to strength of schedule) Good chance, based on thier performance has been horrible the last few games and playing with no confidence. Draft Number 15 Six of the teams are 8 and 6 including the Jags. We would have to win both with them losing both for us to have a chance based on strength of schedule. Maybe one might drop... Draft Number 16. Soooo... my estimate for draft number. We will get the 16th pick in the draft.. Thoughts?/ Agree?? Where do you think it might fall and why? |

Cleveland will take the top O-lineman, in case you have your eyes on whoever it may be (barron or brown)

This will be another defensive draft. Don't expect an offensive player until maybe the 3rd round.

i didn't hear the Texans officially say that Bradford is gone after this season, only that he will become a free agent. lately his production has increased & become more of a factor within the offensive scheme, but I guess if you say so.............
we need to aquire another receiver? add to that Armstrong is under utilized, the TE's are forgotten and we have Sloan & Starling on the practice squad or riding the bench. i fail to see why the Texans need to aquire another WR even if what you say is true that Bradford is gone. there are not alot of great Defensive tackles in this draft so if one presents itself I cannot imagine this year that they'll pass. if you've done your research the linebackers coming out this year are deep & talented & therefore a really great prospect could still be avilalble in the second round. in the third if there is a raw speedster still available at cornerback the Texans need to develop one to groom as Gleen's future replacement. the draft pick the Texans traded to Dallas for Henson is a bonus. the Texans need to turn this one into a future all-pro tight end, I wish Bennie Joppru the best if his medical status improves that would be awesome but the Texans cannot continue to flounder @ this all important position, it affects the offensive line, the other receivers, running backs and of course Carr. free agency we need to pick up a young quality Center with some experience, strength, quickness & mass. next the Texans should be all over the Jets soon to be free agent LaMont Jordan 5-10 235 a human cannon ball, get it done Casserly, thank you. After that DT/NT, OT/OG maybe a WR

wow. to think that one simple thought (one i feel most fans would agree with) was worth a 5 paragraph tirade. i feel special.
stop looking for an arrgument. you may regret finding it. merry christmass or happy holidays or kwanza or whatever you find appropriate.

do we need more than one wr on the roster?
aj+dd: 132 catches for almost 1600 that's as much as everyone else combined take away a few freak plays by gaff and it gets even worse being a smartmouth doesn't mean everyone else is wrong edit: everyne>everyone |

and i happen to agree that bradford has become more productive and continues to be a deep threat even though they are beginning to work him in the intermediate routes. i think armstrong can take over his spot if bradford does not return but his speed is suspect from what i remember hearing. not quite sure though...anyone have his 40? back to the draft here, i agree that for the most part this will be a defensive draft, but think that we will at least use a couple of picks to get an offensive lineman or tight end. i dont want to assume too much with the exact picks though.
