Quick Question. Where do the players stay during camp? Are they at the Holiday Inn near the stadium or is there other accommodation?

I always thought they stayed in the facilities during TC, and were given rooms with roommates....
Or atleast that how it was in "Invincible". |

Yeah me too, seems a bit soft to let them go home. I still like the idea that a lot of teams do of going to a small college town and making it purely about football just like the guys will of done in High School.

The team stayed together in a hotel in the early years of the team. Later on the players had the option to stay home or at the team hotel - although rookies had to do the hotel. Some vets stayed at the hotel because camp was so exhausting that they didn't want to spend time on the road.
Or so I've heard. I think most of the players would love to go north to have camp. For the most part they detest the heat and humidity down here.

If you watch the ht.com video's, there is a few rooms inside the stadium that have blow-up mattresses for the rookies. Definitley crammed, but doable.

Times are different really. When you have premier facilities and football is pretty much round the year there is not as great a need to take your team to some place like San Angelo (Oilers used to train there) and get your team focused on football again. I'm glad they don't leave 'cause I like the fact that I'll be able to go to camp and see the team tomorrow.

I think one of the things Kubiak did when he first got to town was to allow veterans that have been in the league for a specific number of years to go home during camp. I think the young players stay somewhere near the facility, though.
