I would bring my 8 year old son and certainly my wife to 3rd Base- if either were interested in watching the game. It's a restaurant and is a tamer atmosphere than Reliant stadium- unless your sitting in Barrett's section (LAME!)... Actually, the food is pretty good.

You do want to get your loved ones outta there when the Cowboy fans starting arriving though. Once that happens it's like a combination of a work release program and a brain inury support group.

I was going to say scantly clad babes, but that might eliminate the wife and kids.

So beer and TV works. Yes ThirdBase is a family type establishment. Rick had his entire family there for the draft and BigWig has brought his daughter there for a game.

It is not rowdy until the cowgirl fans start arriving and make rude comments about the Texans.

knowing that i'm not the only texan fan. there's a shooters in cedar park that i go to when the texans aren't televised and it's usually lonely

Summing up the requirements thus far:
TV
beer
family friendly
(can I file the "no bar" requirement under "family friendly" also, or is a bar a deal breaker? Chili's has a bar, after all... I am just saying.)
closed captioning (Nitro, I know you are reading this. Would you be willing to forgive 3B if we get a written assurance from Michele (the GM/owner) about 1 tube?)

I have a couple to add:
free parking
central location
multiple TVs

So, given that 3B (Third Base) foots the bill on all counts, there must some other yet-to-be-expressed reasons? Otherwise, I would expect it to be packed to the gills.

I agree with who posted earlier about the environment. It is rowdy and fun, but without getting all "bar-like". In other words, I would take my 8 year old there (if I had an 8 year old). Now, granted, I am not taking my 15 month old to a watch party there, because the noise might scare him (1) and (2) he might get into a fight with Spec.

Is it football season yet? I'm already looking forward to it.

and since i am not a morning person i would be most likely to show up if it's an afternoon game or night game

K-EYE. If they screw us over then I have to go to watch the Texans play. If not then I'm most likely to stay home. If it's a big game though, then maybe.

alcohol (that's what it's all abou... oh. i already said that.)
central location (it's only fare)
high quality seating.

i will continually go back to the carolina game. if you guys didn't have a killer time then you nucking futs. that makes all the difference. what a great time!

i still vote we stay the course and keep it at 3rd Base try to develop some consistancy there and we should have better turnouts. 50 guys spread out all over central texas is not going to help the cause. one centralized location that we spend a lot of money at and can tell them exactly what t.v. we want captions on OR ELSE! lets stay the course. we just need the consistant turnout. that's the key. a few W's will probably make a big difference.

Oh. And that Carolina game was one of the best games I have seen. Of any pro sport. Seriously. I am not saying #1 or anything ridiculous like that, but still -- that place was just sick. SICK! It came in loud and clear to me that, during that game, the franchise had turned a corner.

I like 3rd base because they seem to cater to us nicely. Noone else would give us our own room pretty much...

There food is good, there service is good, parking is EASY, pleny of TV's, ...location is central. I don't really see a reason to move it.

Someone said it on here...you need to have CONSISTENCY. You cant keep moving it all over the place. It needs to always be somewhere where everyone will know it always is.

I also like 3rd base cause it gets rowdy, but not annoying rowdy.
