Interesting to note that 2 of the 5 play for the Jets. Also interesting to see what a dud LaMont Jordan has been. I suppose he could serve as a poster boy for the dangers of free agency.
1. Chad Pennington - New York Jets 2007-08 salary: $7 million Games started: 8 Touchdown passes: 10 Interceptions: 9 Arm injuries have helped limit Pennington to one full 16-game season since breaking in with the Jets in 2000. He enters 2008 second on the depth chart to youngster Kellen Clemens. 2. Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila - Green Bay Packers 2007-08 cap value: $6.6 million Games started: 2 Tackles: 26 Quarterback sacks: 9.5 A full-time starter for four years, Gbaja-Biamila has been mostly reduced to being a pass rushing specialist. 3. Lamont Jordan - Oakland Raiders 2007-08 cap value: $5.4 million Games started: 7 Yards per carry: 3.8 Touchdowns: 3 Impressive in part-time duty with the Jets a few years ago, Jordan cashed in with a big free agent deal with the Raiders in 2005. He's been mostly a flop by the Bay, averaging just 669 yards per season on less than four yards a carry. 4. David Barrett - New York Jets 2007-08 cap value: $4.4 million Games started: 9 Interceptions: 1 Tackles: 63 The high-priced defensive back has started only 20 of a possible 48 games over the past three years. The Jets list him as a backup for the upcoming season. 5. Visanthe Shiancoe - Minnesota Vikings 2007-08 cap value: $4.2 million Games started: 15 Passes caught: 27 Touchdowns: 1 Minnesota thought enough of Shiancoe during his four years as a part timer for the New York Giants to ink him to a big contract that included a $5 million signing bonus. Shiancoe started 15 of 16 games last season, but caught only 27 passes for 323 yards. He's listed as the No. 2 tight end this pre-season, behind 10-year veteran Jimmy Kleinsasser http://www.forbes.com/2008/06/16/spo...hisSpeed=15000
