Pacman reinstated...kinda

Goodell is letting Pacman practice and play with Dallas...until September 1st. When a final decision will be made by Roger.

Adam "Pacman" Jones and the Dallas Cowboys got what they were hoping for Monday -- a partial reinstatement of the suspended cornerback.
Commissioner Roger Goodell informed Jones on Monday he may participate in organized team activities, and the bonus includes training camp and preseason games. While that decision finally gives Jones the chance to earn his way back into the league, Goodell didn't guarantee he would be reinstated.

"This limited reinstatement is a step in the process," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "Adam is aware of the things that need to be done in order to take the next step."

A final determination will be made by Sept. 1. Jones will have to be on perfect behavior in order to be eligible for the 2008 season.

He'll be back this season. Jerrah didn't make that deal without checking in with Roger first, so as long as Pacman keeps his nose clean, all's well that ends well in Cowboyland.

I agree, but it'd be funny as hell if Goodell denied his reinstatement right before the season started. Make him bust his butt for a couple months then yank the carpet out from under him.

The facts are that since the Texans have been a franchise and with all their 'were the good guys' 'we take people off our draft board' attitude, the Texans have had more people run afoul of the law than the Cowboys have. Hey, believe me. the Pokes picking up Pacman is a recipe for disaster but playing for a better franchise with more involved alumni may actually help him. What is there to do in TN besides drink, get high, and give $1 bills to skanks?

I know you are just having fun TB, but if Jerrah's moves pay off, they are going to have an elite talent level...well outside of Roy Williams who is scrubtastic and hasn't met a coverage he couldn't blow.

I am having a little fun, BUT once an asshat, always an asshat. The gurls have two, now. BTW, I don't get into the criminal cowboy stuff that much anymore. Those days are pretty much behind them. Besides, it's going to take a colossal event for someone to dethrone the Bungles in that regard.

I believe he was reported to have been resigned last night. Jerrah rewards the players that play well for him. Always has. This is just an example of Jerrah taking advantage of the cap free year and giving TO a 3 year extension (edit: WWJD has it reported as a 4year..maybe a team or player option). Our owner needs to make sure he throws around some money before the cap free year or he is going to ahve to grossly overpay or we are going to have a mass exodus of FAs.

I hear ya, bro. PacMan has damaged and has been damaged by the company he keeps. He is running around with a bunch of losers who feel its more important to keep it street than it is to be a real man with humility, wisdom, true strength, and the real respect of those around them, young and old. His $$ enables them to be deadbeats and thugs and they probably try to run up on other guy's women and/or stripper hos. If PacMan hasn't cut ties with his old crew, he will fail miserably.

I am not one to slam hedonism and act like I am holier than thou...i like sex, drugs, and rock and roll....but there has to be some substance and positivity too or you are just a waste. Could you imagine all the good you could do if you had all that money? Could you imagine all the people's lives that you could positively effect? You will get a much stronger high from helping build a football field or baseball field for a bunch of kids than you could ever dream of getting from a bottle, joint, or mound of illicit narcotics.

If your social life merely consists of strip clubs, rolling with criminals, loads of bling, entitlement attitude, and violent tendencies....you are probably a huge douche bag that needs help.

The Cowboys are probably the perfect situation for him because its nothing new to them from their past players, they have a support system that has experience in troubled players, and Jerrah is basically a 'show me' type of guy. The past is the past and all that matters is what he does from this point forward to Jerrah.

I don't want to sound like I give a rats ass, but the move has already paid off in a way. IIRC, They traded a 4th round pick for the asshat which was redeemed this past draft by trading back. I think they even get a 4th rounder next year as well.

So, the only thing they've lost is whatever kind of respectability they had left. The guy's a piece of ****....end of story.

oh yeah, Jerrah has sold his football soul to the football devil on this one. pre-Vegas shootout, I wouldn't have had a big problem with Pac being even a Texan. After the shooting and a security professional being paralyzed, PacMan lost me on principle. That is a really bad thing to do and to not be forthright and open and transparent after that happened, indicts him as a dirtbag. He was already in trouble and for him to pull a stunt like that....his crew is made up of a bunch of immoral and shallow scumbags and its no surprise when someone in your entourage shoots up a strip club.

There is a potential upside. If Pacman has a great season, then it'll be another feather in the Cap of Stupid Decisions that the slug Dud Adams wears under that animal carcass on his dome.

"I don't even call him Pacman. Pacman is gone. I call him new man now. He is a new man," Sanders said. "I have a love for this kid that is insatiable. I don't want to call him my son, but I see something in him that I want to love him."

I'm really glad that they're close, and I hope that Deion can help Pacman get his life on the straight and narrow. But I don't support any suggested measure to stop referring to Adam Jones as Pacman.

For one, there are already too many Adam Joneses out there. There's a baseball Adam Jones, a rugby Adam Jones, and the guy who plays guitar for Tool. Probably about a million others, too. Pacman is one of the few cool nicknames that exists in the NFL. Let's not abandon the one redeemable thing about the guy.

And let's not blame the nickname, either. He might be a new man, but the old Pacman wasn't an ***** because of his nickname, he was an ***** because he was an *****.

So let's not try to make it so any of it seems like the fault of the beloved old cartoon character. If anything, keeping the nickname Pacman should help give Pacman (see? I'm still calling him Pacman) a role model, and serve as a reminder that you should be working against the Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clydes of the world, instead of hanging out with them and letting them talk you into shoving one-dollar bills into the g-strings of unclean women.
