Our offense has no confidence. Our line play was pathetic and Seth Wand was made to look like a fool out there. When you have false starts, it indicates your so nervous about missing a block that you forget the snap count. Carr has no time to throw deep and our receivers have become a non factor against INDY. The titans beat them deep. Why can't the texans?

The Colts offense had confidence while the texans played nervous.

I don't want to hear anything about positives coming from this loss. It was a loss. Gary Walker said it best when he stated "you can also get positives from a win"
he also indicated it is time for some changes.

It is time for a change. We need to change to way we protect our QB or he will be wasted. Do we need a new Oline coach? Do we need a new O Cordinator? or Do we need different personell? I think a new oline coach and some changes in the lineup is what this team needs to show everyone we will not tolerate subpar performances and give Palmer one more year.

Our oline sucked, but Carr is also at fault b/c he held on to the ball too long. After taking five steps back (which he does on most pass plays), he should have enough time to make his reads and get rid of the ball.

this is pretty discouraging...if the players are calling for a change maybe it's time for a change...but like i said before...changed the defensive scheme will only set us back years...if we bring in somebody new bring in another 3-4 defensive guy...maybe it's vic fangio and palmer that needs to be let go...go after a guy like dick labeau or another defensive coach that knows the importance of aggression on defense...because i don't see that from our defense

The reason given was to slow down the Colts front 4's jump off the ball. They mave have been anticapating the snap count. It's not that uncommon a thing to do. That the o-line couldn't remember the snap count is all on them. Not the coaches.

No, Carr isn't the problem. A pathetic o-line is the source of most of our offensive woes. It all starts in the battle of the trenches.

Working in variations to snap counts is nothing new. It's called a week-to-week adjustment. People have b itched about not making adjustments in the past and now people are b itching because they do.

The reason they did it is because they wanted the line to get a splt second advantage on Freeney, Mathis, et al because of what happened at Indy and because they are so good and so fast off the snap count.

Obviously it didn't work so let's fire someone.

The Texans problems are largely elementry. So what if they changed the snap counts, it's still not that hard to go on the right count regardless what it is. Too many mental mistakes and penalties in key situtations is a huge flashing sign that there are problems with the coaching. You can't tell me that there is such a big difference in talent between Houston(5-8) and Pittsburgh(12-1) that the records would be that far apart. It's time for Bob McNair and Charley Casserly to start looking at the football world from a more realistic perspective. Players just don't respond well to a coaching style like Capers brings anymore.

Harry Biped, you are absolutely right. There is way too much talent on this team for them to be getting worse every week.

The Colts have the worst defense in the AFC and they scored only 2 TD's. That is pathetic at best.

I know most are ripping the o-line, but they are not the only problem with the offense. And we basically have a whole new left side this year, I think they will be better next year.

Other problems
1. Carr isn't throwing the ball well lately, that pick was way behind Johnson and that should have been a big gain.

2. Have only one receiver who can get open by himself and require the CB to get safety help

3. TE platooning sucks, my high school secondary could tell if the Texans are going to run or pass, strictly by whether Bruener or Miller is in.

4. Even though Davis has had solid game or two lately, I just don't think he strikes fear into opposing Defenses.

I know we have some good young talent in positions, but I think we don't have enough yet to consistantly put up points on NFL defenses.

Heh. From what I saw, he dropped back 5 steps on most pass plays, scrambles, then dumps it off to DD (or gets sacked).

I totally agree. I'm not sure that Davis is the right fit for the Texans, don't get me wrong he's a good rb, but he looses his confidence almost every other game. We need another Earl Campbell type player who punishes lb's and db's for even thinking about tackling him. We need someone to bring it every game and in practice.
My job is to motivate and lead and that's what the Texans need more of. I'm in the Army and we have a saying "Train as you fight" , and I don't really see a vocal leader other than Carr. He has an excellent attitude, but he needs to chew some a s s. Sometimes you need to get under peoples skin to get their full potential out of them, and that is not happening.
