STILLWATER, Okla. – T. Boone Pickens made another super-sized donation to his alma mater on Wednesday, giving $100 million to Oklahoma State University for endowed chairs in what was touted as the largest gift for academics ever given in the state.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont....152d3ba1.html ******************************* I dunno, wonder if T-Bones big-bucks will put OSUs football program ahead of the Sonners in OK ? |

I considered OSU for a brief while before going with KU (after losing scholarships). My best friend goes to OSU as well. He keeps giving me a tough time about wrestling national championships that make OSU like #5 all time in championships. He gave me crap about them getting Bill Self. I can honestly say that now, I HATE Oklahoma State with a passion. The atomsphere for KU-OSU games is now going to be on par with K-State games. For those of you wondering about that atmosphere, ESPN played an in-game clip with audio with us (KU crowd) booing Beasley. It was so loud the refs actually used hand signals between each other instead of their whistles. That is the atmosphere I am expecting when OSU visits next year.

Actually when one talks about individual football players, OSU arguably has the greatst running back who ever stepped on a field. I'm not saying the x-OSU great is the best ever, but I'm saying he's definitely in the conversation/argument.

Vernand Morency? J/K..... Barry definitely belongs in the conversation. My dad is an Alumni of OK State and I remember him going to a Cowboys game in the late 80's. He told me after the game that Thurman Thomas got hurt in the game but they had this pretty good backup named Barry Sanders. I remember my dad saying, "He looks pretty good but he's no Thurman Thomas".

Barry was great and all that, but Thurman changed the game. |
