A majority think the Texans need to draft a ILB. The man according to most would be Derrick Johnson, but what would it take to move up? I just don't see that happening, however there are reports that Channing Chowder is considering his options @ Florida with the coaching change & his eligibility since he will be three years removed from High School.
Crowder said Tuesday he has petitioned the NFL's Draft Advisory Council to learn where he might be drafted should he opt to leave school early. He said he would not base his decision on former coach Ron Zook's firing or Meyer's hiring He has all the talent in the world to be just what the Texans need but not sure if his character or personality fits the team. Have we come to a point in time where need outweighs principles? Last edited by ArlingtonTexan; 12-11-2004 at 08:46 AM. Reason: Florida for Florida state |

I think Meyer might be able to coax him into staying. He's had relatively quick success at both BGSU and Utah, and I expect him to have the Gators at least in the SEC Championship game next year. As far as Crowder's attitude goes I haven't heard much negative about him, but you don't hear much negative stuff about any players unless they get suspended or something like that. He's a very talented player, and Florida is full of them. I think he should definately get a look from us if he decided to come out early, but I feel he'll stay at Florida and garner a higher pick in next year's draft.
