Im actually very happy with the draft we had but its always fun to cherry pick.
My cherry pick draft. #26 Brown, Duane #79 Molden, Antwaun #89 Slaton, Steve #118 Adibi, Xavier #151Okam, Frank #173 Johnston, Brian #223 Hillis, Peyton If reports are true and Seattle did call and offer #38 and #121 for #26 maybe we should of taken it. Look how much it could of effected our draft. If I were to cherry pick with that trade #38 Forte, Matt or Laws, Trevor or Rice, Ray #79 Molden, Antwaun #89 Slaton, Steve or Avril, Cliff or Cousins, Oniel #118 Adibi, Xavier #121 Bryant, Red or Hills, Tony #151 Okam, Frank #173 Rubin, Ahtyba or Johnston, Brian #223 Hillis, Peyton Last edited by mussop; 04-29-2008 at 09:28 AM. |

I would take the real draft over your cherry picked one any day. Tonny Hills doesn't fit the system at all. Cousins might to an extent but doesn't have near the upside.

Well who would you of picked? Like I said Im happy with our draft but dont act like it went exactly how yo wanted it too. Come on show us who you would of picked if you were GM. Its all just for fun.

Uh huh. Every pick they had had a reason behind it.

Well be damned glad I wasn't the GM, I'd of spent every pick we had moving up for Albert lol.

I tried, really, but just wouldn't change a thing cause if Brown does develop as expected thats a homerun & the Texans have to do a better job of protecting thier franchise QB whoever it is no matter what.

I only wish we had taken Carl Nicks. He lasted until the 5th round.

The only pick I would have traded would be Johnston for Barber.
I also would have traded one of next years picks to get Nicks in the 5th rd. |

Not leaning one way or the other just think Duane Brown has a better chance then anyone taken after him and a few before him in Gosder and Otah. |

Over all it was a great draft for the Texans.
We are so lucky to have RS & KUBES in charge of the draft instead of a clown like Casserly |

I wouldn't have changed a thing with our first 5 rounds. Sounds like Barber is at worst, going to be a good special teams guy on our team and that's an often overlooked yet very important role. The QB is questionable, but I guess Kubes was locking in a guy he really liked to groom. I can see if Sage gets traded or leaves through FA eventually Brink may come in as a solid back up a few years down the road.
I'm glad Smith and Kubiak are running the show. I'm very happy with this. |
