this is what i hope will happen, i would also love J-Stew in this scenario.

Houston Texans: Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
The Texans have done everything in their power to take down the Colts ever since they came into the NFL, and a top-notch corner would certainly help, as they don't really have anything beyond Dunta Robinson, who may actually miss the 2008 season in the wake of the torn ACL and hamstring he suffered in late December. The often-burnt Jacques Reeves, who was mistakenly given $20 million instead of $2 million when he signed with Houston on March 2, doesn't help matters at all.

Derrick Harvey and Jonathan Stewart are options here if they fall, but Houston's secondary is such a mess I don't see how they pass up on one of the top three corners in this draft.

118. Houston Texans: Jeremy Zuttah, OT, Rutgers
The Texans don't have much in terms of depth at offensive tackle. Jeremy Zuttah, perfect for the team's zone-blocking scheme, would be a nice fit here.

I saw this awhile back... Zuttah fits the scheme. and if he is Gibb's wonder kin I'm on board....but....I find it foolish to put this much of the francise's capitol on a light weight speed guy who is best suited for LG at the next level. We dont need to back up Pitts for a worse scenario. We need a prospect who legitmely has a chance to beat out Salaam by September. Now all of the new toys at the top of the board are nice.....but the toys haven't gotten us over the hump yet...You build from the inside out. Not the reverse. Sooner or latter we'll get that. no serious contender goes cheap on the o-line anymore.

Seems like we've gone D-line in round one for the last four drafts in a row - that would qualify as inside too, so I think we get it.

Kansas City Chiefs: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
Let me ask you a question. Say you have a top-five pick, and you're looking at three talented players to draft with your selection. One of the guys might be slightly higher rated than the other two, but he has had chronic knee problems the past two years. He didn't miss any time, but he's always been in pain. Upon examining the player at the hospital instead of watching him working out at the combine, one doctor says he has major concerns about the prospect's knees. A week later, there are reports of other injuries no one even knew about. So, do you take a major risk and pray that his body holds up for 8-10 seasons, or do you take the slightly lesser talent, knowing that lingering injuries definitely won't be a problem?

It looks like some team may gamble on Glenn Dorsey, especially after seeing him work out in the flesh at LSU's Pro Day. There are rumors of him going third to the Falcons, which is what will happen if Jake Long doesn't make it there. I, however, wouldn't take the risk on a 290-pound tackle with lower-body problems in the first five selections. At No. 9, maybe. Not at No. 5.

However, we've seen Kansas City general manager Carl Peterson screw up draft after draft. In fact, from all of the Chiefs' drafts from 2000 to 2005, there are currently only six players on the roster (thanks to forum poster titan_qb_3 for pointing out that embarrassing stat). Of all the teams atop the 2008 Draft, the squad most likely to spend a top pick on a major injury risk (think Courtney Brown) is the Chiefs, which is actually pretty sad because the Oakland ACLs are slotted at No. 4.

I hope I'm wrong about Dorsey. He was a dominant player at LSU and I hope he has a great NFL career. I just wouldn't recommend spending a top selection on a guy so brittle. But with Jake Long unavailable, it looks like that's what Kansas City is going to do.

But what about Matt Ryan? You never know what stunt Peterson is going to pull, but I don't think Matt Ryan's a top-five prospect. I heard about the Chiefs sending the 64,000 people to his Pro Day. Think about this though - if Kansas City was really that interested in him, why would it make it so public? Remember, the Broncos drafted Jay Cutler without even interviewing him. GMs and coaches are so paranoid, if you hear them say one thing, you generally should believe the opposite.

The Houston Texas has been an expansive team for far way too long. It is time to get the balls rollin', as they say. Ever since the Texas joined the NFL, or as some people like to call it, the National Football League Conference, they has never been able to beat the mighty Indianapolis Colts ever since joinin the league two or three years ago. Plus, you have the Jacksonville Jaguars who are good. And the Tennessee have Vince Young, who is good... and young. The Texas have to grab that quarterback who can throw the ball good and win the football games.

I know very little about Zuttah but he seems to be listed as a guard in my research. We could stand a 4th or 5th or 7th rd pick on guard, but I really would rather have a tackle.

I really hope we take a LT in rd 1, but If we can't get one in rd 1, I doubt Duane Brown or Cherilus drop all the way to the mid part of rd 3, so you might look at a Chad Rinehart, a small school guy with great quickness, or maybe take a flyer on a Sam Baker if he drops, or an Oneil Cousins is another who might fit and should be there.

FYI

During 2007 spring camp, Jenkins was arrested for misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence after a fight erupted outside a bar he was attending a party for former USF linebacker Stephen Nicholas. Despite not being violent, police used a taser Jenkins and he was briefly suspended from the team.

and it took one two seaons to get one on line and the other has been MIa. How does starting 7 games in your rookie year and 16 in your second year constitute taking two seasons? Seems like more like half a season. For a 3rd round O-linemen, you should be praising both Winston and the Texans coaching staff for this performance.

Also, trying to use Spencer's injury to support your position isn't particularly compelling.

I have never once agreed with the FO's belief that Spencer was a legit NFL LT, however, our FO did pick two first day bookend OT's. Winston is looking like our long term RT. I've been advocating LT just as long as you on here, so don't get you panties in a bunch. I was a strong advocate of D'brick with our #1 overall and an even stronger advocate of trading back up to get Mangold. Also, to judge "ownage" (the correct spelling) you need to use more than 1 particular game against a top 5 defense.

It didn't take Winston 2 seasons, so you should put your foot in your mouth on that one early. "Going cheap" as you put it would be along the lines of a Frye being our starting LT. First day picks aren't "cheap" as defined by anyone who understands the draft. Demeco wasn't a first round pick, so by your logic, we went "cheap". Man, we have really hurt ourselves. Using the "MIA" tag is not only ludacris and insensitive, but also down right dumb. Spencer earned the starting LT spot, meaning he was worth more than his draft slot would indicate. That is not "going cheap", that is being smart. It's what separates the thinkers from the habitually incessant, near-sighted complainers.

So Pete, look at it like this: The example you chose to use is just that - an example. It is one game, and it happened to be against one of the most dominant defenses in the entire NFL, not just against the Texans. It was a theme for them last year if you didn't pick that one up. You also can't figure any additional "beatings" as players progress and regress. You have to consider unit cohesiveness, aging, maturity, coaching changes, philosophy installments as well. There is so much more to developing a dominant offensive line than recklessly spending our top pick on someone I described at the end of the last paragraph's "only option". Open yourself up and trust the FO that has delivered. They have made the picks before, and they will adjust and make the next picks accordingly, even without your incessantly near-sighted input.

I'm sure the FO is looking at this as more of as if they are writting a novel. They are clearly looking for plot twists and new ways to lose fans. There is no reason as to why they would believe in protecting their must costly investment.

Matt Schaub, just like any NFL QB, will take his share of hits. It is the nature of the position. Yes, those hits can be minimized, but you can't say with a straight face that the front office hasn't taken steps to ensure he stays upright as much as possible. You also can't compare Schaub to David Carr and you also can't compare our initial front office to the one we have now. Both are unfair and hold no weight.

I feel bad responding to your posts at this point dude, but you just keep them coming from so far out there.
