Jamaal Charles vs. Selvin Young - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

Okay looks like we will be running just like Denver. Denver picked up Selvin Young in the later rounds with his fumblitis problem and he turned out okay. Are Jamaal and Young comparable. For those saying the zone read RBs can't play at this level, you have to think about Selvin Young who went from Zone Read to zone blocking scheme and actually worked out.

Young has heart, but not near the talent that Charles has.

Charles is faster, quicker, & catches better.

Young blocks better & runs slightly harder.

They both had fumbling issues in college.

I think a plus for Charles is that he proved he can be the main man in the UT offense, Young never got that opportunity.

I think CHarles is perfect RB for our new O. But do not see him at 18 unless no trade down and primo CB, LT and RB are gone. I started a thread sometime ago about Jamaal in our system. Here is link to Housto Chronicle article on him and Sweet Sweed.

Selvin Young was picked up as an undrafted free agent, Jamaal Charles will probably go in the second round. He would be good in the Texans system, but there is very slim chance we will get him.

Out of all the RBs in the draft Charles has the best receiving hands imo. That could go a long way.

I don't think we get him in round 1 and unless we get a 2nd, I don't think he will be there for us to pick again.

I happen to want Matt Forte but I think he will be gone the next time we pick also.
