#1- San Fran- Aaron Rodgers,QB,Cal. San Fran needs a qb and will jump quick on rodgers, who already has bay area connections.
#2- Miami- Cedric Benson,RB,Texas. Miami is in dire needs of a RB, and Nick Saban will take his chances on another Texas rb. #3-Cleveland-Alex Smith,QB,Utah. With the releasing of Jeff Garcia, The browns will need a qb, as they aren't ready to hand the keys to Holcomb just yet. #4-Chicago- Derrick Johnson,OLB,Texas. This is the bears chance to upgrade an already stellar defense, to tag along with a decent offense led by newcomber Muhammed. This defense will cause havoc with LB's of Suggs,Urlacher, and now Johnson. #5- Tampa Bay - Ronnie Brown,RB,Auburn. The Buccaneers are looking for a new young power RB and Brown will fit in nice with the system and Coach Gruden. #6- Tennessee- Antrel Rolle,CB,Miami. This is the Titans chance to upgrade a quickly weakening defense and replace Samari Rolle. Will be a big boost to this weak secondary and defense. #7-Minnesota- Mike Williams,WR,USC. After trading away Randy Moss and now having a stellar defense, this is their chance to upgrade their now weak WR corps. Williams will be a demon with Culpepper throwing to him. #8-Arizona-Pac Man Jones,CB,West Virginia. After trading away Duane Starks to the Patriots, this is their chance to replace him with a younger and better CB. #9-Washington-Erasmus James,DE,Wisconsin. The redskins have one of the best defenses in the league, and add an aggressive pass rusher like James and you're looking at the top defense. #10- Detroit-Alex Barron,OT,Florida State. The Lions have something very special going on offense, and replacing Mcdougle with a more consistend and better destined RT will help defend the playmakers of the offense while their at work. #11- Dallas- Thomas Davis,S,Georgia. The Cowboys are having some problems with the secondary. They would have liked to take Jones or Rolle for CB, but will go ahead and replace Woodson at safety. #12-San Diego- Marcus Spears,DE,LSU. With no other players filling the Chargers' needs worth this pick, the Chargers will go with Spears who will fit in ideally with their 3-4 defense. #13-Houston-Braylon Edwards,WR,Michigan. The Texans will not hesitate with Edwards still available on the board. They are in needs of a #2 WR and Edwards teamed with Johnson will form a recieving tandrem for this rising offense. Before You starts criticizing this mock, i would really read all of the explanations and think it over, this has a pretty good chance of going down. |

Good job, all the picks seem reasonable. But on a minor note Holcomb isn't with the browns any more.

ya i'd be overjoyed if edwards would get picked by us, and i really think it can happen if the draft plays out like i estimated. But than again Cleveland pcisk before us... for all i know they could grab maurice clarett at #3.

I dont see the problem of Tennessee replacing Rolle with another one, they liked Rolle but had to release him due to salary cap. And they absolutly need to draft Rolle unless they have a secret plan to acquire champ bailey.... S.F. will be foolish to take a WR at #1, with no one decent for them to throw the ball in the first place. Unless these gm's are foolish tenn. will draft Rolle and vikings would grab williams and this would all leave edwards available for us.

I find it very difficult to believe that Carnell Williams won't be chosen in the first 13 picks.

just a couple reasons: he stays healthy, goes all out & is a gamer. he has a great attitude and willing to sacrifice for the team. i really like his size 5-11 and 217, very elusive with several different moves, runs a 4.4 & has excellent strength & muscle tone. also very soft hands and would be an excellent back-up to Dominack until ready to start or used in combination as a 1-2 punch, for his size he is a competent blocker and is unafraid to take on lineman. i would love this guy to be a Texan |

I doubt this scenario plays out...
Washington will select one of the big 2 receivers if they fall...They want to get rid of Gardner, so that would leave them with Santana Moss and a group of nobodies...Their offense would be even more anemic than it was last year, when they scored over 21 points in a game 4 times... Therefore, if we want a receiver, we'll have to settle for Williamson...

i Doubt they will get rid of Gardener, because no team is interested at this time. All teams wanting a wr are chasing after plaxico burress and waiting for the draft where there will be a plenty of wr's

If Plax doesn't sign with the Vikings, they'll probably trade for Gardner because they want to use their two first rounders on defense and not feel forced to take a WR...
Even if they're unable to trade Gardner the 'Skins will still take a WR because Gardner is a free agent after the 2005 season and will likely not be re-signed...

I'm pretty sure that Holcombe is now in Buffalo, and is the veteran backup for JP Losman. The Browns have Luke McCown and Trent Dilfer as their QBs. |
