I hear people down on Chris Williams, but I don't know why. Has anyone heard anything negative on him?

They interviewed on Sirius NFL Radio and the hosts, Pat Kirwin and I can't remember the other guy started saying that he might be a little too laid back and might lack a mean streak. I don't know if that might be a reason, but I also think other players like Brandon Albert are moving up. So when players move up, some have to move down.

I got an email (courtesy a close friend of mine ) today talking about Ryan Clady's stock could be dropping.
Quote:
"Several team executives who have met with Clady have been turned off by what they described as “a lack of passion” and immaturity. The Chiefs, who typically send a contingent of executives to the pro days of the prospects they like, simply sent an area scout to evaluate Clady."
Couple that with his supposedly very low Wonderlic Score for a Left Tackle might not bode too will for the Cladster. Question is if (and that's still a big IF) Clady were to drop to #18 because of this apparent 'lack of passion' and low wonderlic, how would the Texans (mainly Kubiak and Gibbs) feel about him??

I could still definitely see us taking the smart kids from Vandy or Virginia, although i doubt the last. Time for me to start getting more excited about the Defensive prospects. darn.

wow pretty slick, I like the idea of your trades but why would the Patriots trade down & pass on McKelvin? (your not a Pats fan?)

also like the idea of Seattle trading down to get Albert, very realistic!

actually I'm under the distinct impression your a Lion fan that is one hell of a 1st rd. (Harvey & Otah) both when all is said & done top 10 talent

regardless, welcome & thanks for your input......

nothing & I mean nothing would please me more if Ryan somehow became a Texan, he is the left tackle we seem to be always out of position to get

I heard Clady interviewed. I could not believe this kid went to college. He seems a little clueless and it didn't sound like he was finding any clues anytime soon. I wasn't impressed at all. I thought linemen were supposed to be the brightest??

He has skill or he wouldn't be mentioned at the top of boards, but brains and attitude get you a long way...look at our middle linebacker.

does not interview well, granted. He lets his play do the talking. all this hype & bs about Long. Ryan Clady would beat hm 9 out of 10 times, he has a much higher ceiling despite worrys his floor is low like his Wonderlick, heck he matched scores with Marino & Vince Young & their QB's so what?

he's not very strong....like Jake Long...Jake long is a mule. Hook him up and plow all day long. Which ever team selects Long...be alot of play action passes.

Williams is a ZBS guy the gamble is that he is quick enough to get the angles on people. Where as Joe Thomas from last year is a very nice combination of the two. Don't be surprised with this board if they take albert.

vn mock. I beileve the phins take the OT 1, they'll come back and take the pick of the litter @ Qb 2. Nice value pick for the polks @ 62.

He was voted second-team All-Southeastern Conference by coaches in 2006, when he allowed just one sack -- none the last 11 games. He followed that performance with an equally strong 2007 campaign, when he again only allowed one sack and was an AP and coaches first-team all-conference selection.

Just like the first day of the Senior Bowl, this guy stood out on Day 1 in Indianapolis. He is a massive tackle who checked in at 6'6" and 315 lbs. He ran very good 5.07 and 5.18 times and looked nimble in the agility drills, though he did only 21 reps.

Vs SEC competition ? ...that synopsis doesn't sound like an alligator armed guy to me.

thats an interesting combination or way to put it

my major concern with Thomas last year, more so than Adrian Peterson even, was if he could withstand the physical punishment & maintain a solid base coming off acl surgery. I could not look past the knee brace he wore, but then I didn't have access to the doctors prognosis either so they must have signed off on him, then he went out there proving he was 100% healthy.

Williams is alot more athletic than Joe, but does not have the measureables like strength or wingspan. technique is sound & like you said a perfect fit for the ZBS. I beleive he warrents a higher draft slot than #18 sorry to say so I just don't expect him to be available past Denver/Carolina.

39 Baltimore Ravens select Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas

& This is about where he should go with those feet YTF. Which means if the Texans pick him they should of traded back and collected some ammo.
