That Dolphins one looks pretty cool actually.
That "oilers" one is a complete monstrosity that never should've even made it to the drawing board.Even Cleveland fans don't like it. |

While I don't endorse it, I think the Dolphins helmet above is much better than the goofy dolphin-with-helmet they have right now. JMO
If Tennessee had kept the Oilers name, while changing colors, I would have some respect for the organization. As it is, Rug Adams dishonored the Oilers history while trying to retain the records of players that were never Titans and never played a down of pro football in Tennesse. |

Tennessee Copperheads.
LMAO. I once submitted a name for them to the Chronicle (or Post) back when they left Houston and there was a contest in the paper... Tennessee Inbreds. It never made the list and I'll never understand why. It's perfect.

Although he stayed away from snake names, The Tennessee Turds would have fit Bud Adams new team name better......

Much like current Carolina Panthers helmets this one owes something (at least IMO) to the USFL Michigan Panthers who had what I consider to be one of the greatest helmets of all time.
![]() In 1984 this looked awesome to me.

Speaking of the multiple helmets thing, I don't see why they don't allow that as long as the logo and number of stripes are the same. What's wrong with wearing a white helmet with the white jerseys and a colored one with the colored jerseys as long as the logo and everything that really matters are exactly the same?
Matter of fact, they oughta start requiring it just to make deciphering receivers and defenders a little easier for the QBs--just my opinion. PS-I agree, that Dolphins helmet would be a MAJOR improvement. I like it.

Holy CRAP Herv...we are on the same wavelength...without scrolling down I was just about to post this and was posting the pic. The Michigan helmet and uniform was my favorite USFL one by far and I used to root for them randomly. Sorry it was just spooky that I was posting the same thing until I saw this.

Yeah but the Federals wouldn't exist since they became the Renegades. The Breakers would still be around but they'd be on their 24th city. They played in a different city in all three years of the leagues existence starting out as the Boston Breakers, then becoming the New Orleans Breakers, and finally ending up as the Portland Breakers.
Great helmets from that league. I really enjoyed the USFL and wish they had been able to stick to their original plan of keeping salaries reasonable and not competing directly with the NFL. They might still be here if they'd done that.

I think you meant to say, that the Gamblers and Generals merged, but that next season was never played.
