While eating at a local restaurant, I was speaking with a group of Texan fans and we were discussing the NFL Draft and who they would like to have on the team. One Texan fan kept brining up Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and began to compare him to Hall of Fame cornerback Darrell Green. I thought that was a bit absurd but anyways I began to think about who the Texans could possibly add and here are the players I came up with the first round 18th pick:
1. Keith Rivers, OLB A talented weak-side linebacker, Rivers is a bit undersized but has several months to gain bulk. He made 240 total tackles and was a big part of the Trojans defense. 2. Chris Williams, OT I doubt Jake Long or Ryan Clady well be around when the Texans select so the next best thing is Chris Williams. At 66 320 Lbs. Williams is a premiere left tackle and can make an immediate impact. 3. Chilo Rachal, OG A good run blocking guard but struggles in space but uses his hands well and has great technique. At 65 315 Lbs. He is sure to be an excellent upgrade over Chester Pitts or Fred Weary IMO. 4. Rashard Mendenhall, RB I would like to add to our offensive line before selecting a RB and I have my doubts after giving Ahman Green all that $$$ in FA. We need to improve our running game, but Mendenhall is only a thought if the other three listed are not available. I think Kubiak can find a decent RB later on like we did with Dominick Williams (Maybe a Ray Rice?) But, Mendenhall is an option IMO. Hope you guys like my post please respond and please dont be afraid to criticize my selections. I like to hear what you guys have to say. ![]() WATCH OUT PEYTON...BEFORE ITS TOO LATE! |

Rivers hit the scales at 236 lbs at the Senior Bowl, 241 in Indy. At that weight, he can't really be characterized as undersized.

So I guess you are against taking a corner at #1 since you left that off your list? Personally, I think that's where the Texans will go if they stay at 18.

Can't see them taking a OG in the 1st, particularly one who isn't good in space, a necessity for ZBS. I also seriously doubt CB is not on their radar screen.

Rachal is not the quality of OG from recent USC teams.
If we are targeting an OG, we might as well target the best in the draft in Brandon Alberts.

The problem with River isn't his size...It's his cover skills. We h@ve very intereting @singments in this division. If Rivers is our st@rting "will", we'll see the wheel route every division g@me.
