Default Maurice Hicks signs with Vikings

deserves its own thread

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7852370

San Francisco running back Maurice Hicks is planning to take a future free-agent visit to Minnesota, FOXSports.com has learned.

Hicks started five games for the 49ers in 2004 and 2005 and has primarily handled kick returns for the past two seasons.

Philadelphia and Houston also have expressed interest in Hicks, a source said.

Wonder if they may bring in Hicks to be there 3rd string RB. It's obvious we won't budge (at this point) from our 2nd round pick for Sage; Vikes don't want to give up their 2nd rd pick.

Mewelde Moore and their 3rd round pick for Sage???

I'm one of the thinking that when a team has 3 solid RB's (1 of them elite) and are looking at possible trades- they will do anything to bring in FA's to help make some sort of trade possible.

I would do Moore and a 3rd for Sage. Mewelde plays well when given a chance.

But it would have to be a sign and trade because Mewelde is a UFA

Oh well shoot, I didn't know that. That'd basically be trading sage for the 3rd and picking up moore as a fa which we could. never mind then!

If he's a UFA then why not sign him straight out?
