1. Miami, DE Chris Long, Virginia. It still fits. I don’t think he will be a DE/OLB stand up guy. He’s either going to play DE in a 3-4 or DE in a 4-3. He’s very good coming out of a 3 point stance…why change it?
2. St. Louis, DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU. Dorsey’s announcement of an injury before the 2007 season could help him. He showed he can play hurt and still produce. 3. Atlanta, QB Matt Ryan, Boston College. The Falcons can’t keep playing musical chairs with that QB position. 4. Oakland, DT Sedrick Ellis, USC. Sapp is 35 now and looks to be losing his steam. They've got some decent backups, but Ellis will get significant play time early and could be Sapp's replacement. 5. Kansas City, OT Jake Long, Michigan. Kansas City needs help on it's offensive line pretty badly, I can't see them passing on the best offensive lineman in the draft. 6. New York (J), RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas. Thomas Jones ran for 1,100 yards this year but only had 1 TD. Leon Washington is a solid #2 but they need someone to score TDs. 7. New England, DE/LB Vernon Gholston, Ohio State. I still like this guy to be the replacement for Colvin or Vrabel. 8. Baltimore. DE Calais Campbell, Miami Ravens need a QB bad, but Matt Ryan is gone. I think they take a versatile defensive lineman to put next to Suggs and Ngata. 9. Cincinnati, OLB Keith Rivers, USC. Cincinnati's defense is pretty bad, they could use a young quick linebacker to help their team speed. 10. New Orleans, CB Mike Jenkins, South Florida. New Orleans has the worst secondary in the league probably. With Mike Jenkins they get a corner with excellent size, experience, and athletic ability. 11. Buffalo, WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma. Buffalo has some receivers, but their only receiver worthy of #1 or #2 is Evans, behind him they have Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish. Kelly will help them a lot. 12. Denver, OT Ryan Clady, Boise St. Protection 13. Carolina, DE Phillip Merling, Clemson. The Panthers lost Rucker this off-season and this guy would fit in with that physical defensive line. 14. Chicago, QB Brian Brohm, Louisville. He falls right into their lap and they take him. No more Grossman vs. Griese. 15. Detroit, CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy. Solid corner should help out their defense. 16. Arizona, RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois. Edge took 80% of the carries last year. The Cardinals need someone to take the load off of Edge before they run him into the ground. 17. Minnesota, WR Jordy Nelson. This is kind of my surprise pick. I like Nelson a lot, and I know the Vikings took Rice last year, but they need another guy to play next to him and help their QB grow. 18. Houston, RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon. Big physical back with pretty good speed for 235 lbs. Should help the Texans offense tremendously. 19. Philadelphia, OT Jeff Otah. Osi Umenyiora anyone? Almost went Early Doucet here because of his versatility. He could be an asset in the Eagles offense with that screen game. 20. Tampa Bay, WR Early Doucet, LSU. Tampa needs some more weapons in the passing game. Doucet should add another dimension. 21. Washington, CB Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State. Springs is getting older and they could use a new addition to their secondary after the loss of Sean Taylor (RIP). Plus it will give the guy an opportunity to learn the NFL a little bit before being pushed into a starter role. 22. Dallas, CB Aqib Talib, Kansas. Good corner for the girls. 23. Pittsburgh, OT Sam Baker, USC. Pittsburgh always seems to struggle in protection during crucial games. They need some help protecting their QB. 24. Tennessee, WR Limas Swead, Texas. Vince needs some more weapons and he has a history with Swead. 25. Seattle, DE Derrick Harvey, Florida. The Seahawks need some more pass rush, and Babin is obviously not doing much for them (ha ha). 26. Jacksonville, WR DeSean Jackson, California. Jax needs a playmaking WR. 27. San Diego, OG Branden Albert. SD doesn’t really have any needs. 28. Dallas, DT Kentwaan Balmer, North Carolina. Let this guy battle with Tank Johnson. 29. San Francisco, DT Pat Sims, Auburn. San Fran needs some strength up front. 30. Green Bay, OLB Xavier Adibi, Virginia Tech. The Packers could have a really sick linebacking core with Adibi, Hawk, and Barnett. 31. New York (G), CB Antoine Cason, Arizona. Giants need another corner. Last edited by TexansSeminole; 02-26-2008 at 05:17 PM. Reason: Changed #22 pick to Talib instead of Cason. |

Campbell - Way too high. He was ranked high because he was supposed to be so athletic. His combine didnt make me a believer, so that means his Pro Day will have to. Nelson - I love this kid. I know you said surprise pick, but I dont see him going in the 1st. Doucet - After the combine, I'm pretty sure that Sweed is off the board before he is. Harvey - Dont see how he could fall all the way to #25. Adibi - Not a first rounder, IMO. It's not impossible for him to sneak in though. |

Yea, I did this mock pretty fast, but I don't see a whole lot I would change excpet I put Talib in there instead of Cason and moved Cason down where Reggie Smith was. Forgot about Talib for some reason.

You think Chris Williams goes in the second? Not sure if Sam Baker is a good fit in Pittsburgh... (could be but just asking)

You might be right about Sam Baker not being a good fit in Pittsburgh though. |

Kenny Phillips didn't impress me much at the combine or during his last year of football.
From a pure production aspect DJ Parker from VAtech played just as well if not better than him last year, and they were both in the ACC so they saw similiar schedules. |

I dont think there is any way Atlanta passes up McFadden. Look for them to pick up Hennie or Falco later in the draft. They arent gonna win alot next year, and Ryan doesnt do it for me.
