Default ECU - The Draft Machine!!

Latest draftees from ECU Pirates:

Aundrae Allison
David Garrard
Terrence Copper
VONTA LEACH

and now............ Chris Johnson - Fastest RB in the Combine:

Quote:
East Carolina senior Chris Johnson was named Conference USA Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week league officials announced Monday afternoon.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Johnson rushed for 301 yards and four touchdowns while racking up 408 all-purpose yards - all career-highs - to lead East Carolina past Memphis, 56-40. He averaged 15.1 yards per carry on 20 attempts, while posting the second-highest single-game rushing performance in school history (351 by Scott Harley vs. NC State on 11/30/96).

Johnson's 408-yard all-purpose yards broke his own school record of 372 set against UCF earlier this season. He scored on runs from 16, 44, 70 and 50 yards out to help the Pirates post the fifth-highest single-game rushing effort (491) in school history and most since 1987 (500 vs. Cincinnati). In all, he picked up nearly half of ECU's 641 yards of total offense - the third-highest team performance in school history - and his four TDs gave him 38 in his career, which broke the school record of 37 set by Carlester Crumpler (1971-73).

For his efforts against Memphis, Johnson received national recognition from ESPN when he was awarded an ESPN Gameday Final Helmet sticker. Johnson was also nominated for the USA Today and AT&T's All-America Player-of-the-Week.

Johnson, who captured C-USA Special Teams Player-of-the-Week honors on Oct. 8, joins Patrick Pinkney (Sept. 10) and Van Eskridge (Oct. 15) as other recipients of the weekly honor.

Joining Johnson as Players-of-the-Week were Chase Clement (QB, Rice), Phillip Hunt (DE, Houston) and Justin Estes (K, Southern Miss).

The Pirates will close out its 2007 regular season road schedule at Marshall Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. matchup against the Thundering Herd. A game you can see live on WITN.
