I just heard on the radio where Butch Davis is expected to step down today as head coach of the Browns.
The speculation is he has been considered as a frontrunner for the University of Florida job and wants to leave now to pursue that job. |

I think the Browns were going to fire him after the season. He hasnt lived up to expectations. Out with the old, in with the new. I guess it works out for him, so he can try to get another job before the year is up. But why would Florida want him??

Yea I think it's proven he's very well suited for the college game and excelled there. Florida is a big time program. He can certainly help them and will be a big hire for them if he goes there.

Davis isn't worried about ruffling any feathers over at Miami by going to a rival school. Afterall, when he got the job as the Browns new HC he told his players at Miami that he wasn't going to leave them even though he knew he was headed to Cleveland. If he does get the job at Florida then I expect him to be successful at the college level again. As mentioned he's a great recruiter, and Florida is ripe with talented recruits year in and year out.

He's not going to get the job he wants in the NFL again (full control). He'll go back to college and Florida is a perfect fit (family still lives there).

well, he may have been one of the worst head coaches in the NFL ive ever seen. how he gained all the control is beyond me. cleveland fans wont miss him, i garuntee you that. you gotta feel for him tho, because the browns lead the league in players on the IR last year, and will repeat this year. but his playcalling is putrid, and im glad hes gone
