Ok guys after watching the videos of these running backs I came away very impressed with the depth of this years draft and I have to say if we can trade back in Round #1 and pick up a 2nd round pick so that we can take a running back in round #2 I would love either Felix Jones, Jamaal Charles, Steve Slaton or Ray Rice. With that late first round pick we can go ahead a draft Either OT Chris Williams or CB Rogers - Cormartie from TSU who was the best DB at the senior Bowl. I put videos below of all the top runners in this years draft and I was most impressed with Jamaal Charles and Ray Rice but Steve Slaton wouldn't be bad either.

It would be awesome to have Jamaal Charles. Not only is he a beast, but it may also cause the local ABC station to run Texans games over Titans game...now that Young has displayed that he is not the returning Christ.

Charles' run against Nebraska.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=_pm0y9Pol04&feature=related I dont want any part of Slaton. At all. Reggie Bush clone except slower & with worse hands. |

This was the first real stuff I've seen from Mendenhall and Stewart. Impressed with both backs. I been a Charles fan for a while and he carried the UT offense this year. I wouldn't take him at 18 and I'm pretty sure he won't drop into the third round. Missing the second rounder rears its ugly head again. |

I'd love to see Ray Rice come to us in the 3rd round- it'd be such a steal. I'm intruiged at Matt Forte- 4th round for us? I also think Benjarvus Green-Ellis could be a good RB for our team as a late day 2 selection. Mendenhall/Stewart would start day 1 for us and would look great in a texans uni.
I see Ahman Green and Ron Dayne being on our team all next season. We will have Darius Walker and Chris Taylor, too. I think if we draft a RB- either Walker or Taylor will be released. So if (which we probably will) draft a RB somewhere along the way- I would like to see him get a lot of the carries next season as I think Walker/Taylor would do an adequate job.

^^ Tashard Choice, figured some might want to watch him. I'm not going to be a homer and say he should be our pick and only him, but he's an interesting RB. He's shifty in the hole, has great vision, and breaks wimpy tacklers. Something else I've noticed over the years is that he doesn't take unecessary hits and is smart about his runs.

Well, as long as we are talking RB, there is this one dude that should be on the board in rd 3. Impressive. Check it out.

I wouldn't mind Stewart or Mendenhall but I still think we'd be better off spending our first on another position. Quote:

How many RB's are you projecting going before our pick in the 3rd?

I would say at least two of those players slide past our pick in the 3rd. And that's being very generous.

I think that Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles & Steve Slaton would be nice fits in round 2 if we can move back and I hope that we do move back and take OT-Chris Williams at the backend of RD. 1. I hope it pans out this way for us that would kill 2 birds with one stone and I bet we do end up trading back because some of the teams that went deep into the playoffs will have guys pegged and will have to jump up.
RD. 1 - OT - Chris Williams RD. 2 - RB - Ray Rice - Reminds me of Emmitt Smith & Maurice Jones - Drew. RD.3 - OLB -Tavares Gooden - We need more speed on defense and he brings that to the table plus he from the U. RD. 4 - DB - Chevis Jackson RD. 5 - S - Tom Zbikowski RD.6 - DE - Marcus Howard RD.7 - DT - Andre Fluellen

Could be but it will be an aberrant year if 10 backs go before our pick. Over the last 10 drafts, the average has been 7.

I like Felix Jones and his 4.4 speed.
