Much to the dismay of my girlfriend (we have a baby on the way) I have added myself to the season ticket waitlist. Could anyone kind of walk me through the process of season tickets? I guess what I'm looking for is just a short description of the process, a round-about cost, and my chances of getting the tickets.
Thanks |

Well, you have several options. Merely sitting on the "waitlist" may never get you tickets.
1) keep calling the ticket office asking what they have available - be polite yet persistent 2) buy PSL's from a third party via the message board or Ebay |

Agree with Yankee...except that I don't think you will have a problem getting them if you really wanted them. PSL seats are only a requirement if you want the premiums seats in the house. You stand I very high chance to get seats in these sections.
The Texans just have to wait to see who renews this year. I think the first bill goes out in February... You will get them...just be persistant. |

I was whining last year wanting to move and they said to bug them in April after it all shakes out.

What are PSLs? I'm looking for something in the 600s, I can't afford anything "premium."

Personal seat lisense, Not needed for some sections but it gives you the right to purchase your seat for umpteen years. You can also check the message boards as I know there are some on this sight. You can also check a local ticket broker and work a deal for the season. Good luck and remember, if your in the Bull Pen=MARIO Quiet Zone= MARIO Goat Herder=MARIO
Stand up and YELL

A PSL is essentially a one-time cost (which can run anywhere from several hundred to several thousand dollars per seat) to purchase the rights to season tickets in premium seating areas. The season ticket cost is extra. If you own a PSL, you can recoup some or all of your PSL cost when/if you want to give up the rights to the seats but that is based on what the market will bear. Right now the market is healthy for PSL owners as premium seating is in high demand. Most PSLs are now bought and sold on the secondary market and not from the Texans as most have been purchased from the Texans and are in the hands of PSL owners. Every year there is some turnover but most PSL owners re-sell their PSLs directly to other PSL buyers. I imagine there's a few PSLs that get turned back in to the Texans every year due to non-renewals but that's probably not a high number. Some PSL owners will sell their season tickets (but not the PSL) for the year so look out for those offers as well. That's a way to sit in a premium area without the PSL cost. Many of those sellers are looking to make a profit and there's no guarantee that you will get to buy those seats every year if the PSL owner decides to do something different with the seats the following year. That's essentially like renting the seats. If I were in your position, I would request non-PSL season tickets in the 500's or 600's and deal with the Texans directly. Pre-2002, PSL sales were a mechanism for the Texans to raise $50 million from the public sector (instead of additional taxes) to put toward their contribution to the construction of Reliant Stadium. Thanks AJ.
That's essentially what I've done. I suppose I will wait until March and start bugging the Texans about my seats. |

I have has seats in 631 since year 1....no PSL attached. Love the view. Yeas....it could be better, but I would not ever change then and I have always been able to renew.

Also, come March who do I call to bug about my tickets? Will I be assigned a representative or do I just call a generic phone number? |

Season tickets Do NOT sell out. If you want season tickets, you can get them. You'll be in the upper deck for sure. Prices for 2008 have not been announced, but plan to pay about $50/ticket per game for all 10 games plus another $10/game for a parking pass.
The good news is that if you buy season tickets for 2008, you'll have first dibs on upgrading to better seats in 2009 and beyond as other non-PSL ticket holders do not renew their seats. Season ticket holders are offered upgrades before any tickets are sold to people on the Priorty Waiting List. bpe3 |
