regie regie regie, so dissapointing(even though im kinda smilin)....... taking all that money in college and risking judgement of your character....... well there is another reason the texans should be praised for picking Mario, imagine all this negative press on regie as a texan. once again makes me proud to be a Texan where character matters........

no, the information is still being gathered i belive, but i wouldnt be suprised if they did it soon.......

I didn't realize there was a book about it already untill i saw it at the bookstore today.

In this day and age if you get accused of something its usually either True or it doesn't matter if it's false because people will think it's true until there is overwhelming evidence that disproves it. Even in the court of law if it's dismissed-that's not enough to sway the judgement.

Taking away the Heisman Trophy would be embarrasing for him and would send a message to younger players about this. Some athletes probably will realize that they truly have no shot at winning the Heisman so it may not be that big of a deterrent to them. Taking away wins or Bowl trophies, etc will have a greater effect on young players knowing that their actions will cause problems for not only them but their coaches, teams, school, and basically their alumni.

The bad thing about it is if they take his trophy they will probable give it to Vince and it will be another award he receives without really earning it.

Oh, so if Reggie is disqualified, then will Vince will get the award? I thought that he deserved it anyway.

Reggie may not have what it takes to succeed in the NFL, but there is no denying that he was an amazing college back.

That said, I am not sure what they should do with the Heisman (assuming he is/was convicted of something?). I don't want to see VY holding it, so I hope he gets to keep it. I have no beef with Reggie now that the world understands why Mario was the right choice.

Maybe not directly "affiliated", but...

The ballots state that "In order that there will be no misunderstanding regarding the eligibility of a candidate, the recipient of the award MUST be a bona fide student of an accredited college or university including the United States Academies. The recipients must be in compliance with the bylaws defining an NCAA student athlete."

It really doesnt matter if Bush was a demi-god in college. Taking away the Heisman would have nothing to do with his college career. It would be making an example of him in order to deter future players from doing the same thing.

They dont fine NFL players for rule breaking because they didnt earn that money.. they take it because it makes an example of them.

This story by USA TODAY also says that Lake's mother says her daughter, Lisa Lake who is an anchor at the ABC station in San Diego, invested 36 K of her own money in her brothers firm to do business with Bush and his famlily. This statement by the mother seems to add credibilty to her sons allegations.
