USC coach Pete Carroll is interested in the Atlanta Falcons' head coach opening and is expected to speak with Atlanta owner Arthur Blank via phone Wednesday, sources at the American Football Coaches Convention in Anaheim told ESPN's Joe Schad.

I'm not sure why he'd want to leave USC at all. He's got it made over there. But to punch out and take over Atlanta?

Really, he needs to go sit down and re-think this. Maybe some of his friends need to have an intervention.....

I mean Pete needs to stop the charade every year.

1) You live in So Cal
2) You get paid handsomely
3) You coach kids that respect you and who aren't spoiled millionaires.....for the most part
4) You can pick whomever you'd like to play for you
5) You are popular every year and make lists

I mean the only negative would be your campus in in the hood. Atlanta is the worst job to take. Just wait a year or so for Norv to screw up.

I don't see him leaving what so ever for atlanta. Im sure he's just listening to all the job offers. I could see him going to San Diego when Turner gets the axe.

Bah. Pete Carroll would be stupid to leave USC, especially for a mess like Atlanta. I just can't see it happening. Especially given the failure rate of college to NFL coaches.
