Pretty surprising to me, honestly. I'm excited about this move.

Well, someone needed to turn around that offense. I thought Cameron was a lock, but Martz should do

Time to shop Gore around. Martz won't use him anyways.

Nice signing, too bad there isn't a decent QB over there to air it out.

I am a little surprised that Brakos didn't start it already.

Me too. However, his sacks will increase due to the pass-friendly offense.

I don't see this as a good thing for Alex Smith. Poor kid looked pretty shaky last year and he's got the bum shoulder. I hate to think what he's going to be like in Martz's offense (or a year later!)
Kitna seems like a really tough guy (average QB, but tough dude) and he got slapped around in Martz's scheme. Bulger took a lot of hits also thanks to Martz's vertical O. So said, the Niners may want to go ahead and start getting Alex in the weight room now. Oh, and start some pre-season counseling for him so he's not turned into Jim Everett / David Carr by week 8 of next year.

Martz doesn't run the ball and refuses to address the obvious pass-protection problem in his offense. not a whole lot to be excited about as a Niners fan. if he went to a team with a great line and a pack of good receivers, you'd have a LOT to be excited about.

They needed someone. Mike Martz has a way of making something out of nothing, which is good because that's exactly what he's working with in San Francisco. Nothing. Yeah, yeah, yeah...Frank Gore. You saw how much good that did them this season. If they are wise they'll dump Smith and move on, that would be a good start. You saw how much good dumping our number one pick QB bust did for us.

& While he is no Marshall Faulk, Frank Gore would benefit from getting the ball out in space, with all the screens, and check downs he will be getting. I like the move, and I'm going to have to give my 49'er buddy a call, to congratulate him.
